The composition was originally featured in The Legend of 1900, a film about a pianist, who, having been born and raised on a cruise ship, knows only the ship, his piano, and the sea. If you haven't watched the film, starring Tim Roth, it's highly recommended - a lovely film. It was also featured in the film Seven Pounds.
