Guaranteed, I don't agree with all of this groups beliefs. However, they are teaching marginalized and at risk people firearm safety and handling in an articulate, educated and welcoming manner. That is fantastic work. I wish them the best! And just maybe some common ground between groups will break down barriers and create understanding and constructive communication.

This is why I never bought into the leftist media extremist view to surrender our fire arms because "school shootings" like... How can you say I don't trust the government on one hand, and then on the other be willing to give up your only true means of protection? How can you say I don't trust the government, and then watch the Uvalde Texas event transpire and not start questioning things?

What convinced me, as a leftist, to become a gun owner was the simple fact that if/when things devolve and we lose societal stability and enter a period of unrest, then it will probably be harder to obtain a firearm at that time, and I don't want to stand in line for ages to try and arm myself then when I could become prepared today and become a gun owner and get training now

Far left actually agrees on a lot of things with MAGA. They agree on the problems just don’t agree on all the solutions but leftists in the US are proponents of economic nationalism and isolationist policies. You’d be surprised how similar radical people on both sides of the spectrum.

i feel like the idea that leftists as a whole have been opposed to the second amendment and are only now "reclaiming" it is kinda misleading, people aligned to further left ideologies have always recognized the need to defend oneself against a corrupt government which was supposed to be the original point of the 2nd amendment, not the corrupted belief that people should use them to kill other citizens over trivial issues like your neighbor's mattress being on your property (johnnie miller)

Okay, let's talk. I'm white. I've lived in Portland for years and years. I was very deeply active in the George Floyd protests. I help out comrades when and where I can, though my capacity to help is limited these days, due to big changes in my personal life. The problem that I keep running it to is other Leftists consistently reject me, based on my appearance. I'm white. I'm 6'3". I shave my head bald. I don't have any piercings. All of my tattoos are beneath my shirt. I don't dress in clothes that you'd typically see anarchists wear. Again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again, I'm told that I look like a cop and I'm treated harshly. It's difficult to exaggerate the number of times that this has happened. I've even been through a couple of instances where comrades surrounded me and were obviously dead set on jumping me but didn't, for various reasons. I've been hit with rubber bullets three times now. I've been bear-sprayed in the face twice; once by a chud and once by a cop. I've breathed more tear gas in a week than anyone should in a lifetime, thanks to my involvement in direct actions. And yet, the second other Leftists see me, they decide that I'm an undercover cop. I've read theory. I've watched lectures. I am a proud anarcho-communist. What I need is for members of the Left to realize that not all of us are going to look counter-culture on the outside. I buy most of my clothes used, so that big corporations don't get my money. So if I have Nike sweats on, it's because I think they're cool and I bought them off of someone else. And that's just one example of what I mean. The Left needs to be mindful of who the real comrades are. It might not always be who you think.
