Don't Buy Cheap Bluetooth OBDII Scanners. Here's why!
In todays video I go over why I dislike these cheap Bluetooth OBDII pocket scanners. I can't even count how many times people have brought their car to me to perform repairs based off of what these scanners say and its been wrong, and for some reason they always get mad at me for it! Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed todays video. If you have any recommendations or request feel free to leave a comment. Chemical Guys Car Wash kit review

In todays video we use the 7 piece car wash kit from chemical guys to decide if this kit is actually worth the money. I generally use a variety of car washing products to get the best " bang for your buck" but once I seen this entire kit for $40 I had to give it a shot. Now, this kit is just for the basics. You won't have any spray on wax or any of the more advanced products but, this kit does ...

I have no idea what the plan is with this truck yet but whatever it is, it'll be worth it. Okay, to be honest the title and thumbnail is kind of clickbait... Apologies for that! But all things considered the video is kind of relevant in the sense that the lift and over sized tires did create additional stress and cause additional wear and tear on the suspension components, so it's not completely clickbait. Anyway I hope you guys did enjoy the video, i'm trying to get better quality v...
Replacing the transmission on a 2001 Silverado 1500

Well, the transmission in the ole girl finally went out on me! In this video we had to replace it, I wanted to wait for a little bit but due to the current circumstance that I'm in I had to go ahead and replace it. So... I have quite a bit of explaining to do.. I ended up needing a trans but somehow managed to end up with a motor and trans.. lol. Anyways, a couple unfortunate chain of events have happened during 2022 and have kind of forced my hand and made me speed up the Silverado build. Which in reality it's probably a good thing because I'll actually have it done in a timely manner. I'm just kind of o...

What bout the shocks
I've seen the bigger kit for 150. What do you think of that one?
Honestly I haven’t seen it, I liked the smaller one pretty good though
@haydenwooten5749 it a on Amazon there's s 120 and a 150
A scanner code number tells you the circuit that is giving the code , so like a engine temp sensor code tells you that circuit is doing it , not necessarily the sensor itself .
Dude. The scanner works properly. Tte problem as usual, is the ignorant monkey behind it…
Please don't think I'm trying to be rude or nasty, but I don't understand the point of this video. I have 3 scanners and none of them say "this part is bad/replace it". They all show the codes that are either pending or history. Some scanners will show a list of possible problems that could set a code, but I've never seen one that told you what is definitely wrong with it.
This is straight off of the FIXD website (a OBII code reader that is pretty popular) “ FIXD tells you what’s wrong, how serious it is, and how much it should cost so you never overpay. “ another quote off their website “ Skip the shop and diagnose over 7,000 car problems in seconds on your phone. “ people buy these products expecting it to be correct when a lot of the times they are not. The reason for the video is to remind people to properly diagnose any issue their car has
The problem isn’t with the scanner, it’s the software trying to assume (promise) too much. And that isn’t even a software issue, but more of an issue with crooked marketing. Blaming the scanner itself is like blaming your ratchet for not coming with instructions for fixing your car.
@@batterybuilding I agree with the crooked marketing part of the comment, the point of the video was to tell people to thoroughly diagnose the problem and not rely on the recommendations from the scanner
I never go on what the customer says and start diagnostics from scanning for codes to get a general idea where the fault is and troubleshooting the electrical wiring or modules involved with the code. What I hate about cheap bluetooth scanners is they want you to pay them more to unlock features of the software. At that point, you can just have AutoZone scan for codes and if the guy behind the counter is knowledgeable, he can point you in the right direction. Had a friend bring his truck in to have a code scan done. The guy scanned it and the code popped up that all banks were lean so he troubleshooted with us by saying whenever he sees that code come up, there's a vacuum leak somewhere. We found out that one of the rubber hoses rotted away and was setting the lean code. Sometimes the computer will think the MAP sensor is bad because it's not reporting proper vacuum from the manifold. You always start out by diagnosing the problem because the customer can steer you in the wrong direction wasting a lot of time. It's happened to all of us. Good luck and thanks for the information.
i had replaced my acura MDX odometer then i purchased an OBD scanner with Odometer correction from AMAZON. i had to return the unit. it does nothing as they had described. then i scanned my neighbour honda civic he had check engine on and also that 700$ OBD scanner did not find anything even after the updates that i had installed. good thing i had purchased it from AMAZOn so i could return it.
Glad you are making progress

Yeah, the ones from kryptonite are compatible with the 2500

Thanks brother!

I swear when squatted trucks get banned I’m going to be so happy
This one won’t be squatted much longer
Same bro
quick n simple,appreciate ya gang
Thanks for the video, with the leak, do you think it is rings, valves or seals? Frankly at 300K, I think it's not bad...a lot of engines won't last that long!
I definitely agree, I’ve seen cars with 100k on them leak worse than that. If I was trying to diagnose the source of the leak I would start looking into the valve train. These trucks are notorious for having lifter issues and with 300k the carbon build up is probably pretty bad. I’m not 100% sure it’s the valves but that would be my starting point
For everyone asking the drop brackets for the UCA they come with the lift kit. I just got done putting a 2.5in level spacer on top of my 7in rc lift just like this video and my truck rides terrible and is super bouncy now almost to a point that its unsafe. However I was still running factory UCA. I ordered the rc UCAs hoping that will make a difference? Will put on new UCA and get alignment and see if i get back the ride quality i had with just the 7in kit
Hey man I have a 15 Tacoma and wanting to install a 3.5 strut and upper ca is it possible to install a 2 inch puc on top of the 3.5 strut??
Real men dont squat
We honestly don't care
stupid ass video made no sense 👎🏻👎🏻
Hey man, I’ve got a 2011 Silverado with a 7.5 rc and I want to bring the front up some more. I ordered some cognito uppers and Ige got a 1.5 and 2 inch front lower strut level. Which do you think I should add. I know angles will be bad but do you think I’ll be able to do the 2 inch or should I just do the 1.5
Can I stack a 2 inch front lvl kit on my mcgaughys 9 inch lift?
I got a 2014 , with the RC 7.5 and a 3" leveling spacer, (2wd) truck is been doing fine for almost a year now
what uppers you running with that?
Glad to hear! I’m looking to do this! I’ve got a 2011 Silverado 4x4 7.5 in RC lift lifted struts wanting to put a 3in level and add a leafs in the back
Rough country @@christianthompsonn
If mine is already set at 9 can I still do this?
Where did you get them drop brackets that your control arms are bolted to?
Comes with the lift kit
Ok was the strut set at 9 inch when yu stacked it or at 7 inch?? Thank you
Do you do side work
Nice
Where you get the control arm drops??????
Is this bad on your shocks like would it be better to put my stick rear shocks in?
I’ve got a 2000 Silverado with 206k on it and I’ve noticed I’ve got gas in my oil I’m thinking it’s injectors but I’m not 100 percent fr
There are a few things it could be, but a leaking fuel injector could do it
@@haydenwooten5749 it’s running really rich to idk if that’s a completely different cause or what but it’s not throwing a code but it just smells like raw exhaust fumes when running and has black soot in the exhaust tips
A leaking fuel injector could cause rich faults
i have a 2014 silverado with a 3” level and i want to add a 5” or 6” lift kit, would this work?
Do you need to have drop shackles or can you just take the 6 inch blocks out the back just like that?
Great video !
Thanks!
Yo so here’s the setup homie 2011 Silverado 4WD with a 6” RCX I’m gonna throw a 3” level stack on the front but the real question is where am I gonna get a 9”rear block for the back? rear N3 shocks are rated for a 6”-9” lift so we’re good there. The main question is I’ve found an 8” rear block to run in the back do you think it would level it out pretty good to where it’s not noticeable? Running moog tie rods and rough country UCAs
Should work pretty fine with a 8 inch rear block not really noticeable, I got a 7 inch rcx lift with 9 inch FTS strut at front and 7 inch block in the rear and it’s pretty noticeable for me but would recommend you getting Max-Track spindles for 7-9 so it won’t mess up your spindle angles and have camber issues
So I got a 6 inch lift on my truck and say I took out the 6 inch blocks and put 4 inch would it have a baby Lean to it
not really did it to mine it makes it more level than anything
Don’t really know why you time lapsed everything. Would have been nice to see you actually do the work.
Fine job, sir, good information
where did you get the control arm relocation brackets from
