    Love to see a video from Fraser on the natural movement the clubhead wants to make around the shaft , opening in backswing, closing in downswing that the gem promotes. Why was this taken out of modern instruction and what are the downsides of not permitting this to occur. Thanks.

    One thing that always confuses me about the position of toe up in the takeaway is I’ve seen lots of teachers encourage students to get the club slightly toe down (matching spine angle) or keeping the face looking down to the ground more, but the GEM seems to get the club into a different position. I guess my question is why does the GEM get into a different position and which one is right? Hope that makes sense!

    Mr. Mann, I purchased your GEM product. I want to congratulate you for coming up with this practice tool. It has been an eye opener. After using it for a few days, it has helped my game. I am hitting my driver and fairway woods good making clean contact. Also my short irons are straight. I still have not learned how to chip well. Can you give us some drills on how to swing down to chip and pitch like you do. Thank you.

    My clubface is always open when I put the GEM on my club. I balance the shaft on one finger with the GEM on it in the backswing takeaway position and it is never toe up like you show here. Is my GEM not balanced correctly or something? it is lined up with the leading edge of the clubface. The only was to get it in a toe up position is to twist the GEM almost sideways on the shaft which is not what is demonstrated in your videos. Is my club not balanced correctly or is there an issue with my GEM?

    HI Fraser, just a quick question re the Gem. I have already bough the tool but i am confused with regards to using it. On your training videos with Steve J you are recommneding to swing the tool slow with half swing , hands wait height to waist height yet on this lesson with Neil, he is using the tool in a full swing and that is where he is saying he feels the wobble. Can you clairify should you use the tool whilst training on a half swing or is a full swing best, many thanks Alex

    At first I was not sure what the GEM wobble was teaching me and I misinterpreted that I was supposed to "body swing" and stay more connected as a way to stop it. It worked but I had no power just turning my torso and lost huge yardage with every club. Then (eureka moment) I came to realize what it really wants me to do is body turn AND rotate my wrist very hard from the top through the ball. I have never rotated that early in the downswing but it works wonders once you get it. Thank you GEM!

    i just got to spend a little time with the gem and i must say the device and more importantly the results are really quite remarkable. i have it on one club and did ten swings with it and then hit balls with another club and the hand and arm action seemed automatic on cruise control. the gem opens and closes the clubface throughout the swing in kind of a rotary action with no flipping, keeps the left wrist quite stable, i would recommend it to any golfer. i'm 72 yrs old, been golfing 40+ years and a 12 hdcp. thanks for inventing it.

    Got mine yesterday after more than a month in the mail, thanks mainly to Canada Post who took a month to get it to me once it arrived in Canada! I felt the “wobble” immediately with the long rod- not so much with the intermediate one. It’s much easier to let the club swing itself when you make one-armed swings. I’m experimenting with taking 15-20 one armed swings with each arm and then 15-20 two-armed swings. Of course, being in Canada in December, this is all being done in the basement 😫

    So, an update. If you're using the MEDIUM length rod, versus the long one, there is no wobble. At least none that I could detect. I think it's a matter of physics. The longer rod is simply too long and puts the weight too far below the club path. Thought?

    • @gitbse
      @gitbse Год назад

      The longer rod points stronger to faults with the club release. If it wobbles, you still need some work. Either under releasing, or over rotating thru the ball.

    I get the wobble on the down swing it fans the face open any ideas ?

    • @gitbse
      @gitbse Год назад

      Before you get to impact? That would mean you are forcing the face shut too soon and hard coming down. Allow the weight.of the ball to hang down naturally with gravity to position about toe up parallel to the ground, and release smoothly through. Any "whipping" feeling or motion with the gem means it's out of position. You can intuit which way its out, if you step back and analyze it. Try to recreate the whip feeling slowly, and learn how to correct it. Your hands will learn.

    Have to say I couldn't agree LESS with the instruction here - I was taught by a PGA pro back in the early 80's to have the club face in these positions on the backswing and follow through and used to have a lot of club head speed, but because the clubhead is square to the line only briefly at impact you end up with a swing that is more timing dependant than it needs to be. However I have bought myself a GEM, based on the experimentation that the 'Be Better Golf' guy has been doing, and he reckons this is one of the best training tools out there. The instruction in the video here is more the old Leadbetter style of swing tuition from the 80's, which Leadbetter himself has moved away from this. Buy a GEM and check out the Be Better Golf videos on how to use it, which is a much more rotational style which maximises the time the clubface remains square and is much more how modern players are playing. If you go to buy a GEM from the web site you will see lots of purchases being notified from the US, these will being generated from people who have watched his videos, ruclips.net/video/0uoeME38SJo/видео.html

    • @gitbse
      @gitbse Год назад

      His name is (Robert Paulson) Brendon from BBG. I also bought one because of his videos, and I fully agree with his full assessment of it being an absolute .... pardon the pun, gem. Brendon's methods so far are excellent. The thing about this video, is most amateurs and especially high hdcp, hold the club off too hard. Closed going back, open going through. Most high hdcp never actually feel a proper rotation and release. Even when the club is staying square thru the ball, it's still rotating. The gem doesn't allow flipping, and when used properly it really engrains a smooth, solid rotation through the ball.

    Got mine a week ago, been having good success with it, I'd love more instructional vids to see how to use it better, not really sure what I'm 'supposed' to be feeling, especially through impact. One thing for sure it's improved is my backswing and tempo, instantly hit every iron 7 yards further with what was feeling like an easier swing, also a different sound from impact which is great. Still not sure through impact and follow through, Is it supposed to feel 'smooth' through impact? or is a slight wobble and twisting of the wrists expected? For me personally to generate a smooth feel, I'm actually feeling LESS of a release/hands turning over.

      @Peter Cipolla I started with half swings (with driver) ie 3pm and 9pm this was easy not to feel the wobble. When my backswing passed 3/4 then on the downswing I'd get a wobble from impact through to follow through 3pm position if I did my usual downswing... then trying to do what Steve suggested at some point something clicked and now I can do a full swing without feeling any wobble. My backswing feels more vertical, and this swing is basically is the first swing I was taught 20 something years ago.

      At the range 10 to 15 swings with the gem then hit a shot. Then 10 to 15 swings with the gem and hit the next shot. At home lots of regular sets of 15 swings or bursts of 5 minutes swinging will groove a better swing. Hitting into a net or blanket at home with the same routine as the range would be better I think (10 to 15 gem swings without hitting the ground or ball then one ball with yournormal club).
