Thank you, I just might do that! I'm not sure how long it took. I just practiced Cathedral by Van Halen, and Echo Etude by Yngwie Malmsteen over and over till I got the hang of it.

@@thekrakenstudio4186 yeah I definitely heard the cathedral influence in it but I’ve never seen anyone work the knob creating a vibrato effect quite like that it’s very unique at least I’ve never seen anybody else do it quite like that

With that said, I’ve been working on and building Guitars for 40+ years, and I have to let you in on a little secret. The EVH low friction pot. It is made by Bourns. The only difference is the packaging and the name printed on the back of the pot. The other differences, is the major price hike for the EVH name. Just figured I’d let you know. ☮️💜😊

Damn son, thanks for the advise! I'll order some and do a before and after. That black Strat has a lot of fret buzz, I've tried filing them down/ adjusting truss rod act and still have some around the 14th and 17th fret. You ever run into anything like that?

@@thekrakenstudio4186 You might need to shim your neck to change the neck angle slightly. There are a number of videos on how to use a shim on youtube including from stewmac who also sell them. Did you use a fret rocker when you leveled your frets? That might help you tell if more leveling is required. How low is your action? A quarter turn on each saddle screw to raise the action might be helpful. Hope you get it figured out! Looking fwd to your before and after video if you end up getting the new pickups.

Hey! Did you ever get it figured out? I'm sorry I'm just now reading this, it sounds like a grounding issue, the green or silver should be the ground and if you still got issues I'd be more than happy to FaceTime you and figure it out if you got an IG or FB or Twitter!

wait now that I'm thinking about it silver should be hot like your "black" when there is black and red in the diagram and green is usually ground. @@thekrakenstudio4186 you are kind! And correct! I did get it figured out. My guitar had an unsightly blob of solder on the 3rd lug which connected somewhat to the pot. I thought it was a sloppy mistake, but it was the ground. When I soldered 1/2 inch of wire from the new pot's 3rd lug to itself, the pickup became dead quiet! However, though it sounds good, kind of screechy, I'm not sure if the orientation of the pickup itself matters (dimebag signature upright toward the neck) because I bought it on craigslist with no instructions. I might screw it down a little more if I need to ease the high end.

Dude you just nailed the point I was trying to make in this video thank you so much! these speakers get such a bad rep for being too "dark" or too "heavy" and it's like bro chill out on your settings idk what you're running but if you take the time to eq everything its there and sounds like nothing else, whether you're doing some single coils for that Hendrix sound or some Humbuckers for metal its there and doesn't even matter what head you're using haha

I'm glad you mentioned Jimi because I was looking for a cab, even an empty one, to put some G12H 55hz speakers into. The cab I found has these Sheffield's in it. Now I might leave 2 in and run them in an X configuration. Very cool

Hey thanks friend! Yeah dude idk if this video does them justice but these Sheffields are on par with green backs in my opinion. I have no idea what the previous 12's were it was a random cab me and my brother happened to find in the clearance section at guitar center some years ago for only $90.00 and we were like you can't even get an empty 4x12 cab for that price haha so we grabbed it and you had to really fight for a good tone they were kinda junk speakers. The label on the front of the cab is X-audio and I've done a ton of research and never found much on them.

do you keep the locks on the tuning pegs tightened?

@@thekrakenstudio4186 Yes Sir. It is a great guitar, but after i used the whammy idk why it does not stay in tune. If i tune the high E string the other strings gets out of tune

@@raynarzary Take off the back cover and see if you can strengthen the spring return by adding one or upgrading the strings, assume your tuning issue is happening in the bottom if your tuners are locked... if the one string is slipping through the lock up top, upgrade them to hipshot, graphtech, etc...

Oh word I never thought of comparing it that way, I really appreciate the input you've actually got a point. I'm no expert on 7 string pickups but I did compare it to my Wolfgang pickups which are 6 string pickups so I get what your saying. Thank you for the feedback I wish I thought of that when I made this so I could have elaborated more good ear my friend!
