How Did Ronald Acuña Jr. Overcome His Biggest Career Challenge?
So the umpires were following the rule for an illegal bat. The rules never actually said what the penalty was for too much pine tar. The ruling was that excessive pine tar was not an illegal bat. By next season the penalty was written into the rule book (removal of the bat but no other penalties). You left out another incident of the restarted game. The first thing the Yankees did was appeal that a runner missed third. It was a different umpiring crew from the original game. When the call was ‘safe’, Martin came out and argued, saying (allegedly loud enough that almost every in the practically empty stadium could hear it) “How do you know? You weren’t even there?” The umpires then produced a notarized letter from the other umpiring crew that everyone legally touched all the bases. Brett wasn’t present at the conclusion, since his ejection from the game still stood.
I, as lifelong Yankee fan , can honestly say George Brett was a H. o. f. Fame hitter. But I never liked the guy👎
Yogi Berra, Elston Howard
amazing
This analysis is soooo wrong!!!!!! Realmuto is not in the conversation. Will never go close to Pudge, Bench, Berra, and Molina, these names are the top 4. No way, no way, even Salvador Perez is much better than Realmuto bro 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
He never won a gold glove!
Henderson was great but did not double up Lou Brock
No Yogi? He would be number 1. And not even in top 10? Were is Yogi Berra ? 10 times world series titles Campy is 1 then yogi is 2
SHAME ON YOU 😡🤬
Bench was easily the best I ever saw play. He was absolutely amazing behind the plate - just a big cat back there. Offense was second to none.
As great Phil Rizzuto used to say, the best shortstop in the history of baseball was Luis Aparicio!
Bench #1 Yogi #2 all time. Missing Yogi Berra on the top,10 is inexcusable!!
“You wouldn’t expect a psychology degree to come into play on a baseball field” is only something you would say if you think your viewers are complete idiots. Thanks for treating us all like we’re beneath you. I’ll subscribe so you can teach me how to tie my shoes and walk down stairs. JFC RUclips is a joke.
Glad to see Michael Jack is number 1.
Pete Rose in the hall of fame 👍
Legendary
Boggs developed into a very good defensive 3B.
Agreed! he got to balls that i didn't think he would get to and he never missed the ones he should catch
Paul was a pleasure to watch...so was the game back then ⚾⚾⚾
Agreed! it was just a fluid game back then and i loved to see the mental part of the game. even down to how they cut the grass if you were a speed burning team
Yogi Berra is number 1
Johnny Bench behind Carlton Fisk? RIDICULOUS.
The catcher on my all-time Dream Team is....Jimmie Foxx....because he was drafted in the "2" position, and that's where he played at the outset of his career.
You claim to go "Deep into baseball history" yet only go about 35 years with 2 or 3 exceptions. Yogi was the best but Yogi used to say that Bill Dickey was the greatest ever but neither qualifies as number 10 for you. I am sure Realmuto will play very hard now that he knows he's a possible selection for your esteemed group.
Lies. All lies. They ruled no one who has been band is eligible for the hall. So you’re just lying.
I have his baseball card he’s a hall of famer for sure
Me too!! and agreed!
He should have been put in the hall of fame years ago!
We agree! if he isn't a HOF I don't know who is!
Imagine next year with 2 Spencer S.’s dominating the mound
Exactly! being a Braves fan is about to get even better!
He wasn't even a position player until late in college. He was a pitching prospect who blew out his arm and couldn't pitch anymore. So he went back to the drawing board and started working on his hitting.
UUUUhhh Yogi Berra anyone?!?!
They think baseball began in 1985.
Brewer fans would rather not remember this guy.
50-50 is out of date 😂😂😂
I think Gehrig is one of the only guys on the list who Always played first base. Maybe Hank also. I find more flaws in this list than any so far. Cabrera played short and third and DH. Papi? Totally on the wrong list. He could pick it in Interleague games according to Harold the Hugger Reynolds. But today he would be the third emergency option at 1B. Lots of holes here
Great points! Just to add, all the players on this list are officially listed as first basemen on Baseball Reference, even if they played other positions at points in their careers. Lou Gehrig and Hank Greenberg were definitely primary first basemen, but guys like Cabrera and Ortiz made a big enough impact at first base, especially offensively, to earn their spots. Papi might not have been a defensive superstar at first, but his legendary bat and contributions in inter league and the World Series make him worth mentioning. Appreciate the feedback! Keep it coming!

Are you deaf, dumb and blind? He's already made history.
Whats great about this video is that this is an actual promotion done by the Milwaukee Brewers, where Mike played. However, no one has hit the truck yet.
He did it in prime time with a 10 RBI 3HR 6 hit performance. He is 51-51.
Exactly! He put on an absolute show in prime time-10 RBIs, 3 home runs, and 6 hits in one game! Now sitting at 51/51, Shohei’s performance is nothing short of legendary. We’re witnessing one of the greatest seasons in baseball history!
he already did it 😏😼
Yes he did, and what a performance lol it was a superhuman effort
Today 9-19-2024: Ohtani Kicked down that door. 6-6, 3 HR, 10 RBI, a triple shy of the cycle (got thrown out by 1 ft trying), and 2 steals. Dodgers Clinched a playoff spot with the win. Ohtani scores like 6 runs. Now he's at 51/51 with 10 games remaining. AND 6 of those are against the Colorado Rockies. He might make a push for 60/60
What a performance! Shohei absolutely kicked that door down and then some! 6-6 with 3 HRs, 10 RBIs, 2 steals, and so close to the cycle? That’s just next-level stuff. Now sitting at 51/51 with 10 games left, including 6 against the Rockies, 60/60 might not be out of the question! Shohei’s making history, and we’re all just along for the ride. Incredible!
he is Mr.Baseball himself
HE JUST DID!!!!! Let's goooo
I know!! he might get 60/60 lmao... Hall of fame while he still playing! PUT HIM IN NOW!!!
1 day later..... o_0
51/51 6 hits 10 RBI 3HRs
He not only broke it he hulk smashed that game... good gosh!
YES HE CAN!
GAME OVER!!! I LOVE BASEBALL SO MUCH LOL
He just did!
He sure did!! I love baseball!!! this is unbelievable!!!
He ended up pulling it off 50/50
Iwe’re all lucky to witness it. This is one of those milestones that we’ll be talking about for decades to come-I love baseball
I watched this video right after he did 50/50!
大谷って 野球自体を面白くしてるよね
Couldn’t agree more! Ohtani has this incredible ability to make every game feel like an event. He’s bringing a whole new level of excitement to the sport, and it’s no wonder so many people are tuning in just to watch him play. He’s making baseball a must-watch experience!
@@baseballspark 本当にそうだよ!
He made it actually😊
He did it! History has officially been made! Shohei just keeps proving that there are no limits to what he can achieve. We’re witnessing something truly special-what a time to be a baseball fan!
Hehe
