As its own movie it’s not bad. As an adaptation I can see why critics bashed it for being so lackluster and predictable

That's like saying a lot of other superhero movies were based on cartoons as Marvel shows from the 90's like Spider-Man, X-Men, Iron Man etc came out before they were respectively adapted to their own live-action. Hell, you can say the same thing about certain video game adaptations like Sonic and Mario as both franchises had cartoons before their own movies that also includes the infamous 90's live-action Super Mario Bros. Movie.

If you do go down the animation route show wise I’d recommend the 2003 series imo one of the best adaptations of the tmnt 🫱🏽‍🫲🏾great video

I actually enjoyed this movie a lot more than the first because I found the first film to be boring and the other sequels atrocious. This is really the only American Tail movie that I think is actually really good.

I love All Dogs Go To Heaven along with The Land Before Time and its sequels and All Dogs Go To Heaven 2.

John Cleese as the villain was the highlight

Yeah its kinda boring

The original American Tail was only a musical because of Speilberg, if it was up to Bluth alone it wouldn't have been a musical just like NIMH. It's not really a surprise Fievel Goes West turned out the way it did knowing how Spielberg pushed Bluth to try to be more kid friendly. Some prefer it to the original because FGW was way more kid friendly than the original so they may have watched it more when they were little and have nostalgia for it.

I remember watching this movie when, I was a kid.

Yeah, this remake is bound to be trash. I hate when they try to replicated the animated movies in live-action. I like Cinderella, The Jungle Book, Maleficent, Cruella, and Dumbo because they did something new, while implementing bits and pieces that call back to the animated films. The remakes of Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Aladdin, and Pinocchio were by far the absolute worst.
