My (3) 498s Garcia Mitchell reels, manual bail, surf set up from the late 60s-70s still bringing them in on my custom 12' rods, only thing that has to be replaced every once in awhile are the drag washer, lucky at the time I bought a shitload of them, been lucky, reg. maint., wouldn't give them up, a little on the heavier side compared to today's reels, but this is when they made things to last !

Lol van staal, Zeebass, visser are the only completely sealed reels. Shimano Saragosa and Spheros are simi sealed with ipx8. Penn Authority, slammer 4, spinfisher 6,7 are semi sealed with ipx 5,6. Diawa has mag sealed reels, Saltist mq and ballistic mq. Those reels mentioned above would be the only reels i would use in saltwater. Even those had to be serviced in a few years. Do some research next time!

Daiwa spitfire 4500 Laguna ll This combo for 50bucks Ive had this combo for 3 years and its a pretty cheap but VERY good combo, i was fishing in a lake once and pulled a log up with this combo😂, trust me this combo is INSANE, the rod is STRONG, i would highly reccomend this for beginners.

I found one nice Proficiency mint pro grade with 11 +1 bearing's and comes with 15 lbs braided line from factory for only $44 is the best I've used so far. For under $50 smooth like butter on glass. Trying out the $50 under budget reel's. The Lew's lzr with 10+1 bearing's $45 is my next reel I like to use.
