Kat's Money Time
Добавлен 22 авг 2011
Hello! As someone who deals with numbers and financial information all day, I have always had a passion for personal finance. This is also the reason why I majored in accounting/finance in university. Financial literacy is the foundation of all of our relationships with money and it requires a life-long journey of learning and discovery for one to master it and the earlier you start, the more you'll gain from it.
I started this channel to share and document my journey of education on financial independence because I truly believe everyone has control over how they want to live their lives and the right to financial freedom. Needless to say, there are many of you 9-5ers who are searching for the same goal, but don't know where to begin. So let's begin by clicking on that subscribe button!

Def first unit anyone know the rent price now after 3 years of this video being posted?
Rents must gone down in Toronto ON I in Regina SK I really missed the convenient of big city living with everything at your doorstep not like that in Regina SK most likely will move back next year
You got this, girl ❤️
Hey what is the location of the last one or the building name
INDX Condominium
rent for the whole place is 2000 and then you say someone could rent out just the den for 1000? the toronto real estate brainrot is real
Haha it’s pretty crazy. I’ve seen people living in the living room too.
such a horribly small place!! i have lived in bigger ones in HK than this!! atrocious!
Hi great video!! Can you share if the heat and hot water included in these condos? I know it’s been over year but do you remember the sqft of the first condo in this video?
how did you find these places?
Realtor
When is the next episode? Lovely video. Reminded me of my visit to Twain 5 years ago. 😊
Hopefully this week! Hahah
🖤
I don’t understand how people can work full time somewhere and working again on something else!!? Like how!! I am always tired after my full time job
I hear you, I’m usually burnt out after my day job. But there’s always weekends to work on a side thing.
I hate office environment!!
I am kind of dreaming now, never have I thought about this..all I can dream about these days is buying a condo.. any insights?
Perhaps take advantage of the market downturn this year and start with a one bedroom
I make minimum wage , would I be able to buy a condo or is it no way for me!?
Will definitely take a while to save up. I started with min wage before too. Focus on increasing your income potential/acquire new skills/take courses. Everything that can boost your employability and increase your income. Find things on the side you can hustle.
Without parents help or outside money it's going to be rough. Housing prices historically have risen significantly higher than wages
Neat I didn’t think Christmas would be that big in Taiwan.
What is the name of the "high-end shopping district"?
Xinyi District
Is it actually snowing?
No it’s not it’s just soap to replace it

Its very amazing condo. I like this condo.
Oooo nice condo!!
Moving from Vancouver to Toronto, I feel Toronto is way bigger and more good paid jobs. A lot more rich people in Toronto as well, they do have homeless people like other big cities but surprisingly not many drug addicts like Vancouver you can see them every corner. Winter in Toronto is cold but more sunny days than grey Vancouver.
Lol buckets of sunscreen. Good info!
That person in the master bedroom came out of nowhere, lol. Cute apartment!
So are you living in the Vancouver greater area ? Will you buy a place there? What about Langley area now ?
Yes. I’m actually looking at the Langley area since the new skytrain line will be completed by 2028. Many of the retailers are open now around the Willowbrook mall. It’s very convenient there.
@@katsmoneytime5827 Thanks for the tip - I am considering getting a place in the GVA (Greater Vancouver Area ...) ... I have been working in Asia for many years but am now back in Canada ... I see you prefer the weather in the GVA vs the GTA? ... I am pondering this too ... again thanks ...
@@newworld6474 yes the weather in Vancouver is much milder in the winter. It snows very little but does rain a lot over the winter months. I would wait until next year to get a place since housing is starting to come down and who knows how much more they’re going to raise interest rates by.
@@katsmoneytime5827 I agree - thanks 🙂
Horrible views from the windows and balcony...ugh.. it's like the price is sky high to match with the height of the building as well...but all you see is what your neighbor is up to at all times...
native English girl !! LOL! ANOTHER asiatisch
The friend knew that this was not a love relationship. The scamer and the one who was scammed know that the interactions have nothing to do with with love.
There's no such thing as online/app dating. Dating and relationships only happen in real life. It should be renamed to online/app introductions. People need to vet people and do their due diligence before getting financially involved with others. No amount of "desperation" should bypass the vetting process. Even employers vet future employees. They don't just accept their word.
I agree. it takes a long time to really get to know someone or to see their true colors.
@@katsmoneytime5827 Exactly!👍👍👍👍
I don't feel sorry for the friend because internet / app dating are mature technologies. These scams have been going on for over 20 years. So this is common knowledge. Plus her friend was old enough to know better than to give her money to someone that she doesn't really know. A lot of people who get scammed know in their hearts that is a scam. I bet if the "scammed victim's" close friends/ relatives ask for that amount of money she will refuse to give it to them. These people who give all their money to scammers will never give 10% of that money to close friends and relatives. I thought it was women are 50+ fall for these obvious scams.
I feel like online dating is kore prevalent these days. So many people around me have been scammed. I believe mostly it’s greed and desperation from people.
@@katsmoneytime5827 Those who are "scammed" always know and sense it is a scam. Those who are scammed are not true victims. They foolishly give away their money in order to buy loyalty and commitment. They know it is not love. It is also a way for them to manipulate the "scammer" into being with them. Both sides don't have good intentions.
I can't imagine living in a place that small. My god.
yeah but now interest rates are crazy high :(
Save up! Still worth it if you can get lower price now and rates drop later ~
Could you please tell the location of the first condo in the video?
Yonge and Bloor
...the actual condo name or address please @@katsmoneytime5827
Don’t listen to stupid realtors and real estate based investors. They all losing now. Listen to a good investor with allocation, they know how to play recession and how important is patience
Omgggg Kat is backkkkkkk!!!!! Keep them coming!!! ❤️❤️❤️
These cities (Greater Toronto Area) are always expensive just to rent due to the high density population of people in these cities. To save money, it is best to rent instead in Aylmer, Quebec just across and very very close to the Nations Capital region of Canada (Gatineau-Ottawa). Gatineau is also affordable. Rent is best just for the very short term. I also heard Montreal, Quebec is cheaper to reside in. But buying (or mortgaging) a good living property is best for the long run and also a great financial investment return in the long run due to the equity build up each year on the property. God bless.
I lived in Ottawa for a year so yes I agree Gatineau is very affordable. Yes I think buying a place is great in that you’ll have a peace of mind and not have to worry about getting kicked out by the landlord. Over the long term, home prices will continue to go up too so you’ll be able to build equity.
Aargh! looks like you bought at the top of the market!
Haha, yes looks like the market will be taking a dip. But I think homes in downtown will probably hold up the best.
Your video seems a little biased towards Vancouver and a bit misleading, Toronto does have a lot of outdoor activities besides just Lakeshore. There is the beaches, the Toronto islands, CNE, High park, Ontario place, lots of outdoor festivals in the summer. Vancouver is extremely beautiful, the views of the mountains and the water is very nice. Definitely much less diversity in Vancouver. Both are expensive cities
Do u hv any vacancy ? Need 1 bedroom condo
No, sorry!
Hey! I kinda want to make the opposite move from Vancouver to Toronto. most of my friends who are born and raised in Vancouver all moved to Toronto and non of them moved back … do you regret moving to Vancouver? I find it’s so boring here in Vancouver and the winters r so grey and wet … but I don’t know if Toronto is any better … can u please shine some light …? Thx
Hey Cozy vibes, I am born and bred in Toronto so I am going to give you my honest opinion! Vancouver is breathtakingly gorgeous and fun when it comes to outdoorsy events but also painstakingly bland and boring as a city itself. Everything closes super early and there is no real culture or nightlife in Vancouver. Of course there is a cultural scene, but it feels quite small and everyone doesn't really branch out that much. In Toronto, the minute you land here you feel the energy. It's like an intense rushing feeling you get that just jolts you. Whatever you are interesting in pursuing there is a community for it in Toronto, and the overall cityscape is just bustling with activity. No matter if you like art, tech, fashion, parks, nightlife, or writing in a chill indie coffee shop, Toronto has it and there are always counter-cultural types just doing their own thing and no one really judges you here. It can feel stressful and overwhelming, but at the end of the day people seem to be more willing to talk to one another and make friends (unlike reserved Vancouver). In terms of meeting people Toronto is a lot easier and more open. My advice is to come try it out here! Visit for a little while and see if it's a city you'd like to live in for some time. Date Toronto lol.
@@elid5123 thanks for the kind reply! Do you know any short term rental options in Toronto…?
Wow. Great description! I agree
