He is a trained musician on top of his improvised playing. He can read sheet music, he understands bar structure and compose. Amazing brother✊🏽💯

Michael Burks was my favorite contemporary guitarist when I was in high school. I bought all of his albums that I could get. It wasn't long ago, but it just seemed like not that many people were playing this kind of improvisational blues for a while. or at least it wasn't reaching an audience, especially with people my age or younger. I really liked Christone Kingfish when I first heard him and kept up with his new releases. then when he came out with his version of Empty Promises I saw a rhino records video for it, and it blew my mind. Such an awesome tribute, he has real integrity and skill. Just an amazing artist.

His playing is unbelievable then his voice just takes him to another level. The line where he sings “ you said you wouldn’t break my heart just like the others!” Incredible delivery and really evokes a lot of emotion. Love it❤️🎸

Saw him at the O2 Institute in Birmingham me and my pal 68 and me 61 what struck us was the mix of younger people and us as usual older guys. great tight band and he was one of the best we have seen Stevie V, Rory G not with standing Kingfish is right up there. Watching for the next UK shows.

Great guitarist. Love watching this guy play. Does it look like he is getting "bigger"? His neck is gone. Concerned for his health. Don't want to hear that he dropped over way before his time like Michael Burks or develop diabetes like Leslie West.
