I started using a fish tackle chest like that 16 years ago to separate my letters and numbers (when I taught kindergarten). Then I realized I could store other items in it. I just used regular white labels to label the drawers. It was ugly and black but functional. Who knew that would become a popular thing with teachers years later. I think every teacher has something like this in their classroom

Another great video!! Construction paper hiding possibility-would behind your book display shelf work? 🤔 Ooooorrrrrrr setting up 2-3 command hooks somewhere, clip on 2 or 3 binder clips to the stack of Construction horizontally or vertically and hanging it on the command hooks. 🙆♀️

My grandpa's biggest pet peeve is that no one writes thank you notes anymore. He's "trained" all his grand kids to write them... in some fashion. I mean... he trained them by letting them know that he won't give them anything else if they fail to send him a thank you card/letter/text. It's just not something I think it really taught as a whole anymore. I think it's wonderful that you are touching on it in class where it's a positive experience they can take moving forward. :)
This is a really sweet comment. Thank you for sharing this about your grandpa. I think it’s just so important for people to at least be able to express their thanks in a meaningful way and see/understand the satisfaction of how it changes someone’s day/deepens their relationships. ❤️
I agree. On my end I always write students thank you notes when they give me anything. It can be a Christmas gift or when they give me a flower they picked. It's my hope they see me do it and want to as well when they receive gifts.
I had same teacher for 3rd and 4th grades. Two years of misery. Your students will never say that about you! Lucky kids! Have wonderful year.

I bought that same vacuum to use in my homeschool room. It's pretty small and fits in the corner. It ended up working so well that it replaced my normal house vacuum. Love your room!

The Benchwarmers clip!! I have 4 boys and this movie was one of their favorites! (However inappropriate it was at times 😜) I am a devoted $🌳 shopper and several of my stores have a bunch of the white locker bins. Lmk if you just can’t find any and I can send some to you. ☺️✌🏼
Haha! Your boys and I have this in common. I spent most of my high school lunch hours quoting the movie with my friends.. and also a lot of my adult life. 😂 I’ll take another look around Dollar Tree to be sure - but so kind of you!

My bulletin boards are usually pretty bare at the beginning of the school year too.
I'm down to 2 stools. I bought yoga balls from Five Below. In two years, only one has popped. I do have to reinflate before a new year, but other than that they seem sturdy. Plus the kids really enjoy bouncing at the small group table (which is mildly annoying - ha!)
Ha. I guess if they're bouncing, then they can move to my hazardous wobbly stool.

Everything I’ve posted so far has been made with Google Slides. I’m not opposed to Canva either, but I haven’t posted anything I’ve made on there yet!

Do students experience back pain over time from using stools? That special writing paper is useful.Graph paper is also helpful. The challenge is that it takes time for the students to use graph paper and not get confused by all of the horizontal and vertical lines. Yes, those dry erase wipes are not worth the money. Microfiber cleaning cloths work well for cleaning white boards.
Hey John! The students don’t sit on them too often - just for small groups here and there - so I can’t see any more damage occurring than normal. I definitely agree about the microfiber rags! Less waste too!
For the stools: a coworker suggested Loctite and 👏. I am rocking those IKEA stools years later and even I sit on them all the time with no issues.
Preventative care, I wish I would have been that smart!
Oh!… and thank you for the awesome shout out. Funny story is I accidentally packed that fishing pole with undies for a fishing trip as I just threw them in the car. And I got a lot of weird looks at the trout farm when I pulled that out of the car.

You gotta let me know if you figure something out! Too much $$$ down the drain! One commenter mentioned using loctite to secure those bolts (that’s how I understood it) but I’m down to 3 and just don’t wanna chance buying more!
