Hornady makes 5.56 home defense!!! So over penetrates will not be an issue.

@@bullyflacco5375 balisticly don't make much sense. hornady is either lieing to you or selling you trash ammo . The distances of a house that round is still moving 3000 feet per secound even if It opens up it's gona drop peddles and that core is gona keep on booking right on out the other side . Or they have dramatically slowed that round down to the point it's almost useless and you might as well get you a 22 mag for the cheaper ammo . Either way I would for home defense go with a shotgun and if that not being feasible big bore pistol 45 or better. That's my 2 cents . Save the the riffle for zombi hordes. Tyrants, red dawn and such .

Both beautiful rifles! But to find a Mosin with all matching numbers and good condition is getting hard. And to find a KAR is even harder

Personally there is some good HD 5.56/223 choices out there. That would penetrate better, have more of a punch to it and won’t over penetrate. I would stick to those. Hornady makes some great stuff. Also look into Gold Dot.

​@@bullyflacco5375nah 762x39 is completely better for a war on American soil. A type 56 Chinese AK 47 with functional bayonet will do way further then a ar platform gun. Now I'm not agents 556 though. It depends on how you use it. If you wanna go for range and speed and armor pearceing then go 556. If you want something versital and something good all around you want the 762x39. And when your out of ammo you can charge with the bayonet and give em the black flag and go out like a true patriot and die for your country.

7.62x39 penetrates body armor better… 5.56 is better on soft tissue… This is why the military wants to get away from it

@@bullyflacco5375 not nessesarely. Green tip penetrates body armor just about as good as a 762. The 762 just dose more damage and it only takes one round of stopping force from it to get the job done. It takes at least 3, 556 rounds to stop em. And 556 travels faster then 762 and hasore range capability. But all around 762 is the more surpiror rounds for everything and is better for defense and military use.

@@bullyflacco5375 also the military doesn't want to get rid of 556. The way the military and NATO sees it, they think 556 is more "humane" then other rounds. That's why the military shits on 762 and other military rounds.
