Добавлен 27 июл 2016
Classic Mystery Radio is dedicated to bringing you high-quality entertainment via vintage mystery, suspense, detective, and dramatic programs from the Golden Age of Radio (mainly the 1940's and 50's). I love these old shows and thoroughly enjoy being transported back through the years to another time and place, when your imagination was all that was needed to be thrilled with a spellbinding story!
In keeping with broadcast codes and social/cultural mores of the day, these classic shows are refreshingly void of politics, vulgarity, profanity, sex scenes, graphic descriptions, etc. Just good, clean, mysterious entertainment!\t
Most audio in my videos has been eq'd/compressed and has received as thorough a 'clean-up' as possible without losing clarity. I make every effort to offer you the highest-quality audio possible.
I'll continue to add new shows and episodes, so please check back often.
Thank you for visiting Classic Mystery Radio!

Anyone know if this is Alan Hale, Sr. or is this the Skipper?
I'm hooked on this OTR Show.
We know our Larry's voice so well!
Good HEAVENS! What a GRIPPING episode! Our Frank must have been very young here!
@@pieterdutoit5997 About 30 years old, I believe. The man could pretty much do it all, couldn't he.
@mysteryradio9180 , Hello, HELLO there. I wouldn't have recognized him. He definitely did convince me that his character was unstable & 'dangerous'. It was an episode that kept us all CAPTIVATED!
Superb!
What a THRILLING episode!!! So well put together!
@@pieterdutoit5997 So glad you enjoyed! Thank you for listening!
@mysteryradio9180 , Hello, HELLO & thank you for making it available for our enjoyment. These vintage hits are very special & each a perfect time capsule of a bygone era.
@@pieterdutoit5997 You're welcome, I love sharing these old gems.
No wonder this is such a good story - William Irish was a pseudonym used by Cornell Woolrich.
@@francesdady5476 Very interesting, I didn't know that! It makes sense, though, since Woolrich wrote this story. Thank you for the insight and thank you for listening!
New sub 😊 and love the images, and I'm surprised how much story they've packed in 30mins 😅
@@ScottishLeo Welcome and thank you for your kind compliment! It makes me happy to know you're enjoying. Thank you so much for subscribing and listening/watching!
"Hey Bub...you gonna listen to the Jack Benny Program?" "Sure am!" "uh uh. Listen to Classic Mystery Radio instead. Much more interesting." "Wha? But I love Jack Benny!" "It's your dough!"
@@SFNightOwl Lol love it!!
Wow! I’m doing my ironing and I’ve got Vincent Price on the wireless. Chances?!?
@@williamfitch1408 What could be better??
I loved the ending. BTW: Many people don’t pronounce Boston like us from MA, but this actor nailed it!
I didn't see that coming.
Very good, I do like the way you change the drop backs. Thank you 🥂
@@terrymitchell2533 Makes my day to know you are enjoying the shows as well as the artwork! You're welcome and thank you for listening (and watching)!
Back drops.
Wow!
I swear he said “udderly alone”with the cows mooing in the background.
Hahaha awesome.
I love it
Thanks! Great show!
So glad you enjoyed it! You're welcome and thank you for listening!
Really great voice actresses on this one. Thank you.

A man who is his own defense lawyer has a fool for a client.
@@pakde8002 I've heard that-- evidently it's true!
Good show, there's a Alfred Hithcock presents TV show also of this story.
@@stevedabrowski3495 Awesome, I didn't know that. I'd like to see it!
Pretty cold after she got him off the hook. Even if it wasn't intentional.
Did women actually spoke this way then?
Neurotic, overly dramatic women is a common theme.😂
Odd ending.
the amount of work he puts into 'schemimg', imagine the heights he could have reached in a legitimate career!
Like so many people in real life.
Listening from a windy West Cleveland.
Welcome, West Cleveland! Thank you for listening!
This is such a good episode in my opinion, of my favorite old time radio series. However, it blows my mind how often circumstantial evidence is used to determine such miscarriages of justice. Really, shouldn't the police officer searched for evidence of Charlie's flight, or had him see a doctor after the crash? Good grief! I love these endings, though. I do adore justice! And of course, our doctors dragging on cigarettes 😂 Thank you, love the artwoek, too! The 40s is my favorite fashion decade!
All good observations, love your comment. You're welcome, I'm so glad you're enjoying the programs! Thank you for much for listening (and watching)!
Sort of a weak ending. Might say the writer jumped to the conclusion.😂
You have put together an amazing collection. And well presented. Thanks for this channel!!
You're welcome! I'm so happy you're enjoying. Thank you for listening/watching!
Lesson learned, always keep cool and for heaven's sake always be polite.

Saw that one coming three miles away 😂
What’s the name of the jazz piano piece and who is playing it (at the very end.)
It's called 'Jazz Me' and is performed by Larry Bryant.
@@mysteryradio9180So disappointed it’s not available on Apple. Great arrangement.
Super, thanks

This seems. Really good a fast. 💨 Death in this Book 📕
Great story. Loved the twist at the end 😮
Fantastic story with a shocking ending. 1-25-25
The ending doesn't make sense. The Paris press only reported two deaths when clearly Forsyth killed his wife and his best friend. Also he killed them in France while he was convicted for the first alleged murders in England. English law does not apply in France and so he could have been tried and convicted again. Some genius 😂
Astute observations!
SPÓILER ALERT: I may have to play it again. The plot bucked me off at some point and I'm not sure whether Adele exists outside Clara's head.
She could have had the reward money but wanted it all and ended up with only a striped all occasions suit of clothes.
A good story that had me on the edge of my seat. Thanks 🙏 for posting. 1-24-25
