The Obeya Association is a platform and a world wide network that aims to share knowledge on Obeya easier than before. We aim to develop Obeya “from tool to philosophy” We are a community of Obeya practitioners, discussing, creating, sharing, testing and continuously improving Obeya practices.
Supercharge Strategy Execution: SAFe and Obeya
Aegon started working SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) in 2019 and short after, COVID introduced in 2020 the new hybrid working world. This amplified existing organizational challenges and also new challenges surfaced, like challenges with Visual Management & Obeya. More importantly it turned out that Obeya and SAFe are a winning combination, because it supercharged the Strategy Execution!

the key message for me is when you said: "Everything that we do on a daily basis must be linked to what we see on the walls". That's for me the biggest value of Obeya, giving a sense of purpose to all the littles steps we must take everyday to achieve that big goal at the end of the year! Great lecture with many insights! This is very educative and interesting. But what is the rationale using Toyota car to describe the origin of Obeya?
Hi Esther, thx for your comment! The first time an Obeya was used as the "Obeya" we now know (and when Obeya became known to the wider public) was during the development of the Prius by Toyota. Toyota achieved some remarkable results using Obeya and the methodology/philosophy became more widely known since then. Hope this answer helps and let me know if you have any more questions!
