When asked how a "loving God" could do such a thing, my respond would be as follows: If Elisha tried to ignore the relentless taunts for these children, and did nothing in retaliation, then the adults of that community would very likely have viewed him as powerless and therefore would neither have listened to him nor respected him as a prophet. As a result, Elisha would have been unable to successfully preach the Word of God, resulting in many would-be believers remaining lost in their trespasses and sins. Further, if these 42 children had been spared, and maintained their anti-God philosophies while growing into adulthood, then surely they would have caused much more harmful manners of grief and torment to the believers of their day and would also have prevented other unsaved sinners from coming to God as well. Additionally, these 42 souls would also have likely produced children of their own who would have then been brought up and trained to be just as defiant toward God in the generations that followed. Thus, by allowing these individuals to perish in childhood, God was most likely preventing future would-be believers from being seduced away or being persecuted for their faith - and this can certainly classify as something that a loving God would do. As for the manner in which God destroyed the children, critics also question why God didn’t just painlessly strike the children dead as opposed to letting them be painfully mauled to death by bears. For this, a believer could speculate that punishment through a more painful death may actually have helped atone for some of the sins that these children had committed in life, thereby allowing their souls to receive more mercy when they reached the netherworld - especially if they then repented of their actions at the last minute before they died. Regardless of what theories can be offered however, we should be reminded that, as sinners ourselves, it is not our place to say whether God’s actions in such circumstances are barbarically cruel or justifiably fair. For as the Psalmist states: “The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies” (Psalms 58:3). This verse clearly shows that there is no age restriction on when a person’s thoughts and actions can become evil continuously. Hence, at the risk of inadvertently sounding harsh and insensitive, Christians may consider the possibility that these 42 children whom God destroyed were particularly wicked souls, despite their young age, and that allowing them to perish in their youth may very well have been one of the most merciful miracles that the Lord ever performed. In conclusion, this story should not cause us to denounce our God as evil and to reject His authority or His love. Rather, we should praise the Lord for patiently granting modern-day sinners the time they need to acknowledge their sins and repent, and for protecting those He loves against those who would immediately or eventually do them harm.

Abba Yah also said I will draw out of Easu and make him BARE and he will be unable to hide; meaning the color was drawen from him; for his seed is spoiled.
