😂😂 Definitely better than hublot.
@@MystoGun650 😂
The power reserve is just ugly
@@snapfitness1 I’m ugly, but my mrs still loves me 😂
I’m not comfortable with this devision between “wearing homages” and “I stay away from them”. It’s all around the hobby. Why oh why shouldn’t I enjoy both worlds at once? I own pieces from well established and rich with history brands, I own vintage and new, I own expensive ones and very cheap ones, I own homages - I love watches, I buy what attracts me and picks my interest, and then I wear and enjoy them. That’s it..
@@Zotrax1946 you can. I own both original watches and homages and love both types. The video is in jest, and the jokes are caricatures of the people and opinions you describe. I’m sorry if you didn’t get that from the video, my intention was to make you laugh :) Anyway, thanks for watching!
What about all the homages from Casio which I’ve grabbed for “pocket change” ?
I did have a list of around 200 watches before doing the video and had to whittle it down. I might do another one in the future and happy for any suggestions i could include 😃
Nice picks! Is there an alternative to the Milgauss? I'm an absolute sucker for the original 50s example but outside some recreations there is nothing like it :(
@@matricious that’s a difficult one! The Milgauss is my favourite Rolex but it sure is very unique. For the modern Milgauss, I’d suggest one of the Ball Engineer II range, not a direct alternative but has similar anti-magnetic features and clearly has been influenced by the Rolex. But the original Milgauss…I’m at a loss sorry. Thanks for watching!
Pagani Design makes a rockin’ homage. I don’t know what your views on PD are but they’re not too bad of a deal. The bracelets are usually crappy, but the watches themselves… I’d put them two clicks below San Martin.
@@ivoshandor6859 I don’t mind PD. For the money, they’re solid watches. I actually had a PD BB58 before I bought my Tudor. It was a quality watch!
@@FullyLumed Right on! Most of my watches are Pagani Designs. That’s what I started out on. My San Martins get the most wrist time now though.
The traska is a pretty direct homage to the OP. If San Martin did this you would be all over them!
To be fair. You’re correct, and I should have mentioned that! I wanted to include the Traska because if it’s scratch resistance! Thanks for watching
Thanks for a funny video. Seems we all go through our phases in watch collecting and dabble in some of these personas tangentially. I go back and forth between high end and affordable, though I am not a fan of Hommage brands. However, one can see how huge the quality improvements are nowadays, it’s scary what you can get for very little money.
Yes, I think we’re all guilty of it. Like you I flip flop between high-end and affordable (Tudor being as high as I’ve gone though), but yes, I try and steer clear of outright homages. They have come a long way in quality and thankfully, the really good brands are now releasing decent original pieces now they’ve made a name for themselves. Thanks for watching!
You do know that pandas arnt real yeah ?
And dogs can’t look up
Is there any possibility of you actually getting hands-on with a real watch, instead of generic footage?
I’m trying. I’m speaking to lots of companies about partnerships. It’s just hard going with such a new channel to convince them. I do have one in the pipeline for the near future though.
He’s just starting out and he’s addressed this already. This dude is gonna be the next Jody/JOMW or Jory Goodman/The Time Teller. Just kidding. I hate Jory Goodman.
Haha thanks mate. One step at a time 😂
Why not show us your collection to start? If brands see you doing well with that, maybe they'll be more cooperative. Or even a little. "This is how I care for my watches," video.
I showed 3 in my collection a couple of videos back
Why do you have so many channels?

What is an ideal watch in your thoughts ?? And please name some of them .
@@TheMineFlicks the ideal watch is the one you love and means something to you. For me. It’s my Oris Aquis GMT.
A compliment on a watch I’m wearing, is what it is. And it is a very nice and rare feeling (because most people don’t give a dam about it🤷🏼♂️), and it got nothing to do with the price of said watch. Someone mentioned it because it was attractive, or interesting, or it fits your look perfectly. It very well could be a 100$ piece, a 300 one or a 3000 one- it feels the same for me, because I appreciate and love all my watches.
@@Zotrax1946 exactly how it should be! But the only compliment on a watch that’s actually worth any consideration, is your own compliments! Thanks for watching!
People do tend to ask me how expensive my watches are. Very annoying.
Thankfully I’m a recluse so don’t experience as often 😂. But I find a nice “none of your business” is sufficient!
Really well written. Especially about the Rolex guy. There’s sooooo many of them. Once you go Rolex… 😂

Baltany’s british aren’t they?
They’re a Chinese brand focussing on vintage homages but the quality is exceptional
As a retired operative my top-most priorities have always been reliability and accuracy. So I went Eco-Drive. Of course I love mechanical timepieces and own a few of them myself, but when the sh!t hits the fan you’d wish for a solar quartz.
@@J0hnny8ravo yes without a doubt. I’ve featured citizen in my last video - eco drive movements are brilliant!
Damn man, are you filming your video on a watch aswell? Cant even appreciate the nice dial on the San Martin. Also forget swiss big names, china and smaller producers is where value lies. And also, if your talking about features the San Martin clearly has more hands to read time and even date of off. Its automatic so the big power reserve is mostly irrelevant and a (maybe) more durable and reliable movement is not a real feature.
@@alexanderemmrich3597 unfortunately it’s the thing I need to improve on. But give me a few weeks and some decent lighting to arrive and the filming will be better :)

No mention of long term second-hand value.
@@michaelbedford8017 I tried to take the focus away from the value in any sense because it’s pointless comparing a £3500 and £150 watch with prices involved.
Another great video. I tend to think COSC is just another aspect of luxury branding. I quite like the fact the NH movements are reliable, and if they fail, you can replace them for $50 (as opposed to $1,000 for a regular service. And ultimately, if precision matters, buy quartz. If it really matters, buy thermo compensated quartz.
@@kaczynski2333 thanks man and yes you’re totally correct!

Thanks. Yes I’ve been looking at vidiq and wondering if it will be of help. But to be honest, I’m a little overwhelmed with how quickly the channel has grown in 4 weeks and I’m unsure if I can handle the pressure of trying to grow it even quicker at the minute 😂 Always happy for video suggestions, I’ll add it to my list thanks!

@@ivoshandor6859 thanks mate, I’m actively trying to stay away from proper reviews. There’s already plenty of reviewers on RUclips that do a better job than I could ever do, the plan was always to just create some light hearted watch-based entertainment, so it’s good to know it’s coming across as that. Thank you for your thoughts. I have an older Rolex 2-tone GMT Master that I seldom wear. I think it's too ostentatious, or maybe because I'm only it's caretaker and it really belongs to my wife. I'd much rather wear my Omega Seamaster 300 Professional, Seiko Alpinist SARB017, or RDUNAE Captain Willard homage (GASP!). I also have an F91-W somewhere around here and a few other watches, too. I meet some ROMEOs (retired old men eating out) weekly for lunch. There are 18 of them. I'm sure all of them could afford a Rolex, however, only six-ish wear one. It seems they aren't watch people and don't care what anyone else wears. The two watch guys in the group mostly wear inexpensive quartz watches... of which they have many between the two of them.
As long as you love whatever you’re wearing then it doesn’t matter what others think. I think we all fool ourselves that others care to a point though! But I too have a Rdunae 6105! Amazing watch for the price. Although, I’ve modded mine and I’m in the process of ‘aging’ it. Purely for aesthetics though!
@@FullyLumed I chose the Rdunae because it is the closest copy of the SEIKO, right down to the 19mm lug width. And... it has a better threaded crown than the original. Win-win!
@@George_Lewis yes! That’s exactly why I chose it. I love how they even included the lock text on the crown! I’d love a genuine 6105 but I don’t fancy spending thousands on a battered old watch that’s had water ingress!
