We're the Pearsons: a family of 4 who travels half the year, orienting each journey around location-based learning. Our travels are core to our two growing daughters' educations. We traveled considerably before they were born, but quickly became fatigued of monuments, museums and picturesque streets. When we book a plane ticket now, it's always to dive into an interesting topic that's piqued our interest. You'll never see luxury hotel room tours or airline reviews here -- just unique experiences any intrepid, out-of-the-box traveler can try if they look hard enough.
We Flew to Africa for a Glass of Milk
In Rwanda, a country where cows are king and milk is on tap, dairy is essential to national culture. Years ago, we read legends of Kigali's ubiquitous "milk bars." Naturally, our family of milk-fanatics was intrigued. Join us as we walk the streets of Kigali in search of neighborhood milk bars, visit a dairy farm in rural Rwanda, and sample some of the freshest milk products in Africa.

We Drove a Full Lap Around Australia
Is it possible to drive The Big Lap around Australia in a week? Assuming you want to eat, sleep, and actually see things... no - but we found the next best thing. We spent a week circling Tasmania: visiting National Parks, hiking the shorelines, eating our way through small towns and staying at a new place every night. Whether you're a Grey Nomad, a visitor with limited time, or just curious ab...
The Fires are Over... Now We Can Help
In 2019, devastating fires swept Australia, decimating the environment. We happened to visit southeast Australia in December and left feeling helpless in the face of the tragedy. Nearly 5 years after the wildfires, Australians are still picking up the pieces - but hope is far from lost. Kangaroo Island's Passport 2 Recovery program is an innovative citizen science initiative designed to get loc...
How to Raise an Olympian in 2024: Start
What does it take to raise an Olympic swimmer? We have no idea, but one thing's for certain: first, any future Olympian has to hit the water. We were determined to get our daughter swimming independently this summer. Though she'd made some progress, she wasn't convinced swimming is a valuable skill. A trip to the Great Barrier Reef opened her eyes to the underwater world and gave her the motiva...
Why New Zealand Celebrates Christmas Early (every year!)
We've always thought Christmas in July was a major grasp of impatience for people unwilling to wait the 11 months that they rightfully should to celebrate Christmas. Our minds are unchanged on the topic for those living in the US or anywhere in the northern hemisphere, but we found one area of the world that may have an excuse... New Zealand has long celebrated mid-winter festivals to capture s...

Your daughters are adorable
Thank you! They had fun with this one. I'm raising some serious milk lovers...
Oh, no!
Thx for sharing your family trip. I do believe you as a family were praying at breakfast what a blessing that was to see. 👃
Thank you for watching and for taking the time to reach out - it means the world! ❤️ We always pray before every meal at home, but it’s our girls who often remind us to in public, too. They teach us more than we teach them when it comes to the important things. 🙏🏼
Texas BBQ is a different level, but the cow meat in Ar is high quality, BBQ? is good but not like Texas
Lol comparing texas bbq to Argentinean, what a joke. Texas just overseassons and ruins their meats, there's no flavor contrast, just rub and douse it in seasoning until you can't taste the meat.
It’s definitely a different technique, one that we’re partial to, for sure. When you find incredible Texas BBQ, there’s nothing better in our opinion! 😋 But unlike asados, which are often enjoyed at home, Texas BBQ usually requires some heavy-duty smoking equipment that most people don’t own, so it’s tougher to replicate it well. In our experience, people who can smoke their own meat in TX have been doing so for a long time. We love the idea that asados make meat accessible to all types of people; we’d love to see that concept make its way into Texas BBQ, too. Sending you wishes for a BBQ feast this week, no matter where you are!
Carne asada, pan, agua y vino; toro y pampa essssss jaja, saludos
Una receta para el día perfecto! 👌🏼
¡Que rico! familia
Mil gracias! Te apreciamos mucho!
@@pearsonescapes ¡Gracias!
I'm sooo happy to live in Argentina coming from Switzerland (Swissarg 🇨🇭🇦🇷)
That’s wonderful! We can see why anyone would love to make Argentina home. We hope you were welcomed with open arms, as we’ve found to be the Argentine way. ❤️
Oh my god! Thanks to take the time to react to my comment! I live in Mar del Plata (400km south from B.A.) by the sea. I'm 57 living in Arg. since 1984 in BA and then moved to MDP in 1992. Always felt at home in this country, people are so friendly here. Excellent video! Richard (born in Geneva Switzerland)
We’re itching to visit Mar del Plata - we’ve heard nothing but wonderful things! We’re traveling through Geneva soon, but sadly not spending any real time there, so we’ll have to return. Thank YOU for watching and writing in; nothing makes us happier than to hear from Argentinians! Abrazos, Richard!
If You want to eat true argentinian asado, go outside the city to a campo (ranch) and try asado cooked with leña (wood).
Agreed! We’re really looking forward to taking the girls out to the country next year. Thanks so much for watching!
Vacío has the stress on the "i" not the "a"
Yes! So many menus omitted the accent, it took us a while to even see the proper spelling. 👌🏼
💪💪💪💪♥️♥️♥️♥️🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Thanks for your support, Favio!
I never comment on the video I watch, but you deserve my comment. I am from Argentina but live overseas. However, I miss the meat and the variety and of course the people. Your video is so real and honest. Plus your girls are adorable. Great video, thanks.
Well, we feel honored to receive your commentary and for spending your time to watch! We’re glad it reminded you of home. We also miss Argentina and hope to make it back next year! 🇦🇷
Calling the choripan fancy is so funny! It's like the cheapest comfiest food you can have with friends around here
Oh, how we envy you guys! Compared to our gnarly ballpark hot dogs, a chori is *chef’s kiss*, haha. What we wouldn’t give for toppings like chimi or salsa criolla at home, so feels “fancy” to us. 😆 Enjoy one for us this week!
@@pearsonescapes i will! Thank you for the video, it really lit up my morning seeing so much love for our country's food
Amazing video !!!
Thank you so much, that means a ton! ❤️
@@pearsonescapes I would like to interview you on my RUclips channel to know your opinion about Argentina as a tourist.
Wow, we’re honored to be considered for an interview! 🙏🏼 You’ve had some really fascinating guests! We’re not sure we’re the best candidates for that segment, but we will excitedly tune in when it airs - please keep us posted and thanks again for thinking of us! 😃
😂 Bienvenidos a Argentina !!
Amazingly, the best meat cuts that are high price in Argentina started as low quality meat. Entraña is now very expensive, but at the start, it was meat of low price for not being the best parts. A few periods of big hunger, and the argentinians started eating ANYTHING they could from the cow, and that's how entraña became so valued. The special part of Argentina's meat? They don't season the meat with that many spice. Vacio, Asado, Entraña, all of them are generally cook only with salt. Coarse salt, but only that. The flavor comes from the fat.
We’ve certainly grown to understand that the best meats are seasoned with some simple coarse salt, as you said! Quality meat needn’t much else!
12:42 THE BEST PICTURE IN THE ALL VIDEO 😂🥰💕 hahaha the most cute moment!
Hahaha, thank you!! ❤️ She really went to town! 🤣
It’s not that deep man…
Definitely not if you have the right car, but ours wasn’t, even for those conditions. Had we known, we would’ve picked a different vehicle. Grateful it was the dry season!
Kia ora, really enjoyed watching you and your whanau enjoy Aotearoa ♥♥♥
Ngā mihi nui! You made our day with your kind words! ❤️ Aotearoa is home to some of the most welcoming, down-to-earth people we’ve ever met and we feel blessed to have glimpsed parts of the winter festivities this year. Hope to be back soon!
So cute!
Thank you, Damon! ❤️ We’re hoping it’s just a matter of time before she’s 100% on her own in the water, but her confidence and enthusiasm have grown a ton this summer.
As a New Zealander, I didn't know about the Greytown Christmas festival- definitely something that I need to head along to. I hope your lovely family enjoyed their time in Aotearoa-New Zealand. 🙂
We definitely had to do a little digging to find it, but we were surprised at what a popular event it is; we met lots of people from Wellington and even Urenui who come in for it. Hope you get to visit next year! Thanks for watching and for your kind words! ❤️ Your country is beautiful and full of the kindest people - we hope to be back in the next year or two! 🤞🏼
You should try the carnivore diet and come back to Argentina, LOL! Thanks for the video!
You don’t have to tell us twice!! 🤣 Fingers crossed that we’ll be back next year. Thank you for watching, it means a ton!
Loved the video, I loved that you moved to different locations and really local events, avoiding all the typical tourist places. We love people coming to live the culture and enjoy the food. Hope you and your family had a great time and you are always welcome! cheers from an Argentinian
We love hearing from Argentinians, so thank you for taking the time to write to us! 🩵 Your country is full of wonderful people and knock-out food; it’s been a cherished part of our family story for a while and we’ll be back as many times as possible… hopefully very soon! Sending wishes for a great weekend!
So jealous. 1 fam time is the best... but with Ramen... 😅love the vibe yall r awesome 😅😊
Ramen kicks everything up a notch - especially when it’s good! Thanks so much for the kindness, we’re grateful you’re here! 🥳

Your family is very beautifull.congratulation my friend❤
Thank you so much, Sergio, you are too kind! Cheers to you! 🩵
Good God man, can you just not talk as much and show the food? You could've made this a short
Haha. We made that, too. Cheers.
That’s amazing!
We thought so, too! 🤩
So lucky
For sure, it was the coolest surprise. 🙌🏼 We definitely got lucky with this hotel! Apparently the noodle service is a hallmark of the brand, though, and we had no idea before booking.
Caught the dude pulling out a wedgie lol
that is so perfect for me omg
Right?! 🤩 We eat dinner pretty late, so this was our meal - just in pjs!
Bedtime snack and a cup of Tea
The coolest evening ritual! So nice that everyone comes from a soak in the onsen, too. The PJs make the whole experience. 😃
The booty scratch @:09 🤣
Such an ill-timed clip! Sorry to that dude! 😩😅
Gyaooza
Thats because the fake food is usually real food thats just been sealed in epoxy
We were surprised to learn that most sampuru manufacturers first require restaurants to submit a preserved, real version of the dish so that they may more accurately replicate a model. Serious dedication on both parties’ parts!
Nice
We could definitely go for another bowl right about now. 😋 Thanks for watching!
1st time seeing a video that isnt abt brainrot or skibidi toilet lol keep up the great work
Hahaha, thank you! We try to maintain some standards around here. 😆 So glad you liked it!
So don't waste our time?
Aw, we definitely wouldn’t say that (and neither would a country full of Argentinian meat-lovers!) We’d love to know where your favorite meat is from, though. As Texans, we’re always interested in other places’ specialties.
I need to go to Argentina
Take us with you! 😍
So. Try beef?
Yes, the full-length video focused exclusively on beef, but we recommend checking out some of the conversations in the comments for other local suggestions. As we noted: so much to try!
Pin before viral
Thanks, we appreciate your support! ❤️
no me jodas.. dudes- I know this is an old video- but OH MY GOD I LIVE IN MATADEROS RN- this is soo cool to see my park in a english video!! oh my gosh haha -also yes- if you want to taste the real good food? eat out, no restaurant will compare to the food made with heart and love of it- sure is a bit dirty, uncomfortable specially with how crowded it can get in mataderos, Iknow- but is the more fun to simply sit down in the part, with your sprite or cocacola, and simply feel like you are of us!
Ah, so awesome! We love hearing from people in Mataderos - it’s truly our new favorite neighborhood in Buenos Aires. We’re so glad you liked the video; we hope it captured a little of what makes your neighborhood so incredible. Thanks for tuning in and reaching out! Go enjoy some great grub (and a chori!) at the special fair today! 🥳
