@@tankorrsmash yes they did keep the flex couplers and this certainly looks to be the issue with the glasses not sitting square

@@Shadydaysunglasses And you can't retune the couplers because that would require removing the stitched leather. Very disappointed that the MUZM series didn't accurately replicate the mechanics of what made X-Metal such a desirable series.

@@WyckoffMode Thanks. 🙏 do believe I commented on this before but yes the restored originals have been confirmed as Dillon Matte Gold lenses. The MUZM pair has been sold. The originals stay in my collection! Glad to have helped.

I wouldn’t say they are anything near identical or worthy of any copyright infringement. However I just review sunglasses and make stuff up. Not like a lawyer. I would think Jannard has clearance to do what he is and the first models of these were released over a year ago.

@@Shadydaysunglasses I agree. but I just compared the Gegawatt to the Flak, there's not that much difference in the shape of the frame and lenses, I would imagine that Luxottica can not be thrilled that Jim is making shades again after paying a few billion for Oakley. Just my opinion, I love your reviews by the way!

I would not recommend for running. Sweat, salt would stain the leather wrapped sections. However a pair of old school Romeo’s or Mars (non leather) would work for running and look great.

Yes I agree. Also I found out since the video that the originals were restored with gold Dillon lenses with matte finish. So in fact that is the look for them. The originals did have a more gold/mirror finish but not nearly as shiny or reflective as the new release.

There's been three releases of M Frames in the last 18 months, albeit all limited releases. Early last summer Oakley had a box set and a single pair and then recently ShoePalace released a pair in collaboration as well.

The Oakley Xeus _AG were released last week worldwide. These are not the same gold ones as in my review. They look a bit more sleek with the top bar being down further. And of course they are chrome lenses instead of gold and silver frames. They are, in fact, $430 on the USA Oakley web-site. They are advertised as limited edition but they are not publicly advising how many will be sold. Could be that they are just going to be sold for a limited time. Hard to say. I do have a pair in the box and am considering to do another unboxing review to show them as well as the difference between the gold and the silver.

@@Shadydaysunglasses I just got a pair of the Silver ones for $470 at my local store….Pls do a comparison review between the Gold and Silver to see what the differences are. Thank you!…..I’m guessing a Bronze version would be next to come out (?)

For $430 I could score the entire M Frame Alpha kit.

Thanks for you kind comments. I really got caught up in these Oakley’s and they reignited my passion for the sunglass brand that I lost many years ago. It was an amazing race and when I saw it all I thought is I need to have those glasses. Now this first pair ordered at 3am on the release date may actually go up for sale.

@@Shadydaysunglasses seems like a good time to sell! Resell prices have stayed consistently high for months. Not too sure if they will creep higher. Very few Xeus were ever available in North America on eBay. Much like Boldon’s they are certainly part of the brand history now. I missed on release day. Also missed the recent Eye Jacket & Eye Jacket Redux package they released, which went very fast. Good indicator that the brand’s popularity is in good shape still. I think they are hitting nostalgia heartstrings (true for me). Retro’ing pairs, much like Jordan and Nike brand do with sneakers, seems to be wise. I have always loved sunglasses and Oakley started it all for me.

Love these. Was lucky and snagged these and the MUZM EJs last year. Gonna be interesting to see what Oakley releases in 2022.

I’m not sure where you received this information. What do you mean by “went to the Olympics”? The 500 sold by Oakley come in the limited display box with the number, etc. Those given to athletes for the Olympics I don’t believe would have had the same treatment. My other pair is in fact well under #100 but I don’t see how they would have gone to Tokyo and back or why.

@@James-lp6mr yeah for sure that’s too much. Let me know how you make out at any stores. My emails said 200 pairs were being released so maybe that was online and the other 300 will make it to stores.
