Ive been doing automotive upholstery for43 yrs. You are doing a great job crafting the cover and explaing the process..keep up the great job!
Very good video...

Nice job, Eric, been thinking of putting a sniper on my Plus 8
I enjoyed your video. I have a 46 Ford bench seat that needs foam for the bottom. I will be using plywood for the bottom since the springs are totally shot. What foam did you use and where did you get it? Thanks, Bill
I purchased my fain at an upholstery supply shop called a Keyston Bros
@@HomeboysHotrods Thank you. I will see what I can find.
You have a lot of great tools. Where are you based?
Georgia. Thx!
Great job truck looks awesome!
Thanks 👍
Nice work my friend this is the Las swap obs guy
Now I know what you've been up to! And all I can say is sooooooo sweeeeeeeeet! 👀👍
That’s awesome I’m just learning but I have the same 2 machines. And I feel like they are 2 of the best. I don’t like the new style machines.
Nice work! Very interesting to see how this is done, sir. Thanks.
What size wheels on that blue 57
Nice play on words . . . Drive Responsively (like being “responsive”) instead of Drive Responsibly (like being “responsible”) with a vehicle with probably at least 3x the horsepower the 50 Dodge came with (flat 6). I know, as I have one too. Nice truck and keep plugging away on it.
Hey brother I appreciate the content. Great ride along video.
I appreciate it
Nice!!! Looking good brother
Thanks 👍
Show this channel some Luv and Subscribe! Really nice work! What weight thread were you using on the thread removed? 92 or less? And what weight did you switch to....maybe you said it and i missed it....thanks!
I switched to 277 I believe??? The then was like normal weight thread and I hated they way it came out. I was being lazy and not wanting to thread the other machine! Ended up eating more time redoing it!
@@HomeboysHotrods whoa, that is thick! That thick thread does look sik....Since Hot Rods are more for show and little use... should be okay...but high wear areas that will fray apart rather quickly. I am not an expert by no means, but every shop I have went to looking for that on my seats they all rule against it....I stay with 138 but my seats get used regularly. Nice job 👏
Have you done part 3 yet?
Not yet
Do you have any info on the front suspension on this Falcon? Looks like Fox Mustang based?
I’ll ask the owner for you
@@HomeboysHotrods thanks!
A Mustang 2 front
What thickness sew foam (pink foam) did you use?
Quarter inch. Thx
Being that the pump is a return less style, did you cap the secondary fuel port at the throttle body? I’m looking at doing this same install on a 65 coup. Thanks in advance.
Yes I did cap it
Are your temps staying around 180? 1st gen Holley sniper always ran hot for me.
This car has a pulley fan and is not controlled by the carb. My dodge runs about 190-200
For your topstitching do you use a lighter weight thread in the bobbin?
Same thread on both top and bottom . My lager needle pulls the thin bottom thread up too far.
Yeah, i am not sure if its a good thing to mix different weight threads between your upper thread and bobbin. However, do pay attention to what type of thread you are using "polyester vs nylon", do not mix up.
You need to adjust the tension when that hppens..@@HomeboysHotrods
I use a consew and use a 92 thread in the bobbin when using accent thread..works perfect..it may be different for other brand machines..
Very Kool.
I picked up quite a few tips watching the video. I’m trying out upholstery for the first time. Keep the videos coming 🤝
Whaaaaaat?? 😃 bro, am subscribed to your channel and love your work man!! You have inspired me and given me great tips, my friend! Just not setup properly just yet for paint, but hoping to in the next couple weeks. I, too, am now starting upholstery and enjoying it....did my first KEI truck show recently and got to show my upholstery work.
Nice work, I use to sew , starting over and I want to thank you for your videos. Keep up the Great work.
Only one problem. That is Not a BOSS 302. That has SBF heads not Boss heads.
Heads were changed out
also, to save you from having to pull another tank, get you some silicone grease. make sure you always use a new o-ring, but put some silicone on the o-ring to "glue" it in place (don't use silicone sealant, only grease). it'll hold it in place till you install the lock ring. we just had the same issue on our 66 bronco. saved us from dropping the tank.
Great idea. Thanks for all of the advice. I will check the temp sensor too. Much appreciatied.
@@HomeboysHotrods yup yup. no prob. keep up the vids.
i couldn't tell in the video, but if that sensor is behind the thermostat, you're gonna wanna swap it with the factory gauge spot. otherwise the snipers coolant enrichment tables are gonna be jacked due to not getting a good reading until the thermostat opens. another pro tip since it looks like you either do this for a living or are doing side job installs, wiring cars. invest about $5-10 on a pair of amazon special "flush cutters". makes those zip tie cuts sooooo much nicer. no more cut hands/arms when you brush against them.
Pretty awesome system. Nicely done Eric.
Yes, very nice
good stuff. super nice truck . pro tip - i'd get a bung welded into that exhaust asap. get rid of that clamp. if it doesn't leak now, it will eventually. exhaust leaks on these systems are a pita. if you want some decent info on the holley systems or tuning on them, check out a few of my videos. off to watch part 2 now.
I am now following you
@@HomeboysHotrods thanks.
Love the truck! Awesome build. Glad you got your sniper and fuel system dialed in. I put the Sniper 2 on my K5 Blazer and I’m happy with it so far. The only thing I’m unsure about is the fuel pump. I went with the Holley OEM in-tank pump sending unit. It runs nice and quiet at first, but really gets loud and high pitched after running for a couple hours. Holley said that’s normal, but I question that. Time will tell I guess.
Make sure that you don’t have a gas line that is collapsing. I had a gas line closing up on me causing me issues. Thx!
Nice truck, man. For real!!!👍
Great video! Your IAC looks like its to high. If you adjust the throttle screw to increase idle it should bring your iac down to where it should be. I think the spec is 0-10 and yours is in the 20s
Very Kool Eric! Yep awesome work. 👍
Thanks 👍
Sweet unit bro, I see a lot of hate on the Sniper on FB groups but it seems like all you need is good wiring connections, and steady 60~ psi fuel pressure and it's absolutely gnarly.. I guess thats too hard for most people to achieve so they start trashing on it lol -- just subbed keep up the good work, nice truck and my fave color
Cool truck! What's the wheel specs?
18x10 18x8
Man, it looks great. Thanks
Love it Cuz......
U have a lot of skills Eric. 👍
Thanks 👍
Pretty sweet set up.
Beautiful truck !
Really enjoyed this video. Hope the Sniper is still running strong for you. Love some of the mods you made to that old truck. Some great imagination and craftsmanship. Looking forward to see more of your work.
Pretty sweeeeeet!
Very Kool! I will hit you up on Instagram. The Holly sniper is a great upgrade. 👍
Very nice work brother!!!
Love the truck!. I just bought a sniper 2 to install on my 1978 K5 Blazer. Getting ready to start installing it this weekend. I'm hoping Holley got all of the bugs worked out from the gen 1 units.
They are pretty good. Just make sure that the engine doesn't have any other issues like bad wires, have your ground, positive and acc wires directly to the battery and dedicated ignition source that stay s hot when cranking and you should be good. My transmission had a vacuum leak which was the root of all my issues. Thx, Eric
Thanks for the tips. Truck runs pretty good on the carb, so hopefully I’m starting from a good spot. Got the fuel pump in the tank today. Hopefully I’ll get it competed next weekend.
@matthewrusch477 great news! You will be impressed with the throttle response.
Thanks brother you did a wonderful job
Did you consider using the Holley PDM? That’s what I’ve gotten for my Sniper 2. But I'm having trouble with them coming on. Using ColdCase 14” fans, thinking they won't work with the new install. Can you possibly do a video showing how you connected? Very nice truck, by the way. Good video.
Did you use relays on your fans?
We have a dodge 318 tow truck it’s a tuff sounding. Beast
red bezel gives your guage a finished look
Hey bro I told you that you would find out what was wrong with it .😊
You're the man. Reach out to me when you finish up that amazing ride. I'd like for you to complete my Stingray.
