It's due to being cautious of copyright but also because personally I never want it to be the case that what I'm reacting to is louder than my voice. So it is tricky balancing things out.

@@oddsamurai1 It certainly seems to be difficult to strike a balance. While I don't want it to be as loud as this time, but if possible, I would be happy if it was 10% more than usual.

Since you understand Japanese, you would have noticed that "himawari" is "hi (sun)" + "mawari (turn around)". It means a flower that turns around facing to the sun.

Yeah, that's definitely a big part of this song's charm. I wish I could but I don't think Ado would come to my city. Maybe eventually, there's also the tickets probably being expensive 😭

@AkihikoKoga Thank you for frequently commenting on the Ado reactions, it's always nice to see you. Ado never disappoints with the force and range she has. It's hard to quantify how much Japanese I know, but it's a lot easier to understand hearing than trying to read it. I didn't know Rasen means spiral though rasen kaidan together makes sense. Oh I'm so bad at puns, I can only think of the food where yaki (焼き) means grilled/toasted and tori (鳥) is bird, but here it's a y at the end. Now I'm so curious, please let me know

@@oddsamurai1 I think you reached to the correct answer. Many Japanese people associate the sound of YAKITORY with yakitori. Further, in a note written by a person named jon-YAKITORY, he talks about "why he chose the name jon-YAKITORY", saying that since his first pen name "jon" was a common name, he added "YAKITORY" from the name of a Japanese food, but his friends told him it was a bad idea. Yakitori is small pieces of chicken meat skewered on bamboo and grilled with salt, TARE (a kind of sauce), etc. It's a popular food in Japan although I don't eat it because I'm a vegetarian now.

@@ndarnda3766 did think it was significant that she used "die" and we even see her eat her own heart out of starvation. I just tried to reason that it was regeneration but this could be an ability exclusive to her. Maybe the only ways to kill Deathtopia is the method the hunters tried to use in Kizu removing all limbs and heart? or her servant killing her. Oh wow you actually kept a timeline by paying attention to the different phases of the moon, I wouldn't have thought of that. It could come in handy so thanks for sharing. I don't think the vampires can't enter places without permission in this series since we haven't seen it actually happen, but maybe poor pedigree vampires have to. It was most likely Ougi making Ragi poking his insecurities about being a quasi vampire. Now that you point it out that exchange can also apply to Hanekawa parallel, I'm also thinking when she told Araragi he could eat her when he was panicking about succumbing to his hunger. Well I did see some vibes between those Deathtopia and Acerola but I'd need more to ship, the subtext of attraction is there tho for sure.

I'd already listened to them once but I went back to them after reading this comment and I'm not sure where I'd place them but I see why they're so high for you. The melancholic vibe they give is rare for ajikan.

I get that as someone who also watches reactions sometimes. At the end of the day a lot of it is subjective, but I'm also a lyrics person so its nice when others pay attention and try to find more meaning in them. I appreciate the compliment without putting specific people down.

@@oddsamurai1 In Japan, we have a proverb that says, "If you are a freeloader to somebody's house, request refills of rice apologetically," so to avoid being too noisy, I will write all of the following additional comments in lowercase. i checked to see if there was a live version of ado's sunflower (himawari) on RUclips, but there was only one uploaded by a fan, so a reaction to just the music video would be fine for me. i'm not particularly rushing you. any time is fine. since you seemed wondering whether to do a live performance or not last time, so i will tell you, for sunflower and for me, the music video alone is enough.

Since he called king shark by his real name at first, she probably figured out that he’s starting to care for them and blew up clayface as a warning to him to do as he’s told or they die.

As someone else who also has also known him for 20 minutes, that's a valid reaction to meeting him lol I also quite like his type of character, not only is it interesting to analyze but its hard not to relate a little. Here's to hoping there's no suffering for him in the future 🤞

@@oddsamurai1 I've been obsessed with this series ever since it started airing because despite the pacing throwing some ppl off, I've also consistently seen reactors say that the characters act really mature. I feel like every new introduction honors the complexity of human beings. It would be so easy to make Jin, the jack of all trades show-off, into a total asshole, quick to anger the moment you criticize him, unable to stand people seeing past his carefully manufactured facade, spiteful simply because he can afford to be. It would be so tropey & uninspired. But instead he talks up his crew, takes good-natured ribbing with grace, has a childhood best friend who knows all about the real him by his side… He is genuinely kind and cares about other people. A huge green flag and a stand up guy And people (and ogres) are like onions. It’s really cool the way the characters in this story are so 3-dimensional - multifaceted & complex. I can think of few anime that do it like them, BL or otherwise. My mind is blown every week when my expectations for character X based on the usual tropes are delightfully subverted! It's commendable and extremely refreshing <3

@@adrianneyvonnudottir1614 The pacing being really fast is definitely a weak point for the series but even with the time we've spent with the characters I can tell the mangaka did their best to show subtle and big moments of the characters' nuances. While I prefer series that take their time in showing what makes each character who they are, I think giving big pieces if the puzzle from the getgo fits this series. I didn't expect Jin to be the perspective characters this episode, but not only does it work to really getting us invested in him but also seeing Ichikawa from someone else's perspective than Hisashi and Mao. It took me a bit but now I'm quite enjoying this show, I hope it keeps it up

@@oddsamurai1 Maybe because I know a good few stories that are great despite getting wrapped up in the space of a short movie, or a runtime as short as 20mins (like Hyperventilation, a webtoon from Korea, or Stranger by the Shore, or Doukyuusei), the pacing doesn’t feel off to me at all? It’s a short format manga with spin-offs, this is by design! And, bless their hearts, I love Sasaki & Miyano, but I feel I know Jin way better as a character after 20mins than I know Sasaki after a full season of anime, haha! But it's a matter of preference for sure! Still I can't commend the screenwriter/director/editors enough, because to me the rewatch value has been extremely high. I can think of precious few anime that I feel the desire to rewatch the moment I'm done. This episode came out yesterday and I just completed my... third... rewatch? And that's not counting all the reactions I'm watching on repeat as well xD Re: Jin suffering, have you noticed the very last frames of next week's preview? His relatability is about to go way up for me... And re: Jin being the viewpoint character here, it makes so much sense given that we've had pretty solid glimpses of Ichikawa's personality, talent & drive (as well as his quirks & shortcomings) in the HisaMao arc. Anime staff are using the time allotted to them well <3 I am really glad we are seeing glimpses of Rei's character for similar reasons...

There might be similar stories all over the world. In the story, one day, an old man found a baby at a glowing bamboo, took her home, and raised her with his wife. She (princess Kaguya) grew up beautiul and many rich men proposed to her. But one day the princess said "At the next full moon, a messenger from the moon will come and I must return to the moon". Since princess Kaguya is the main character of such a story, for Japanese, the name 'Kaguya' is assosiated to beautiul (maybe mysterious) girl/woman.

@@AkihikoKoga I recommend checking Kaguya-sama wa kokurasetai, its a pretty good anime with romance, comedy and drama. In fact one of the main characters talks about the Kaguya-sama tale to the character with that name so I know the bare basics. Still, didn't cross my mind when listening to the song, so its near you brought it up. Japanese folklore tales feel very unique, like Momotaro, but similar messages definitely can be found in western fairy tales.
