This is a fun loop we ride throughout the winter. Can be a challenge when there is lots of snow. Or no snow and lots of ice.

The angle isn't great but if your curious out the track layout it will give you a sense of what to expect at the AMSA race in 2023.

A Lap Around Redwater Provincial Recreation Area
Are you still running the AER forks and if so, did you have them revalved for trail use?
Yes these are the stock AER forks. They haven't been revalved for XC unfortunately, though he rear does have a bladder kit. And because this bike is a TC, the setup is more track focused. It's a great way to loosen up some fillings and jiggle off the pounds too! lol
Love the videos been watching them for 3 years now and never get tired of watching you ride. I just moved to Edmonton from Victoria would love to go for a ride with you. Cheers
How long was the loop?
@@aaronhansen1997 31km
Way to ride the trails! Beautiful country, congrats.
Nice work Ryan!
Great video! I missed that race, looks like a fun track!
yesbuddy!~!
How's your 300xc holding up?
Very well. I'm on my second 2023 now. Picked it up back in April. Just trying to keep the hour meter low.
Looks like a fun track, hitting this race up in a few weeks. Thanks for makin the video!
lots of memories building this course!
Siiick. We had a blast. Watchya doin in the willows hahah.
Good racing! hoping to join in on these races in Alberta. This provides a great insight to expectations. Thanks for posting!
Ryan enjoyed the video. You smoked that hill the first go around! Bike was running crispy!!! Bummer the hill deteriorated before your second go-around and started creating all sorts of issues. But fun day all around and I sure enjoyed seeing some of the crew again
Glad you did Drew. I always have fun making them! And yes, good to see some familiar faces. Winter can be long without events like this.
New Husky? Any running issues with the TBI at these temps?
Got a pretty good deal on the TC250 so I couldn't resist. It sat in my truck overnight outside and fired right up when I arrived. I find adding some throttle on start up in the cold, and using the cold start button located at the bottom of the throttle body, seems to do the trick. I don't have a fan on this bike, so no temperature gauge on the rad. Normally I wouldn't go ride in double digit negatives, so I warmed it up a long time before riding, as you would with most any 2 stroke. I think the idle could get cranked up some to avoid more of those stalling issues, but again the low grip allowed the rear to lock up easier too, so stalling it may still have been a problem. And I just installed a Midwest clutch lever too, so that might need to get dialled in a bit better. But the bike ran great all day.
That track kicked my ass
What handguards are ya running
Wow! Good good job, I have rode all those trails and hills but would never want to do it all in a row.
You think you are riding good then you ride down there and then you have to reevaluate how you are doing. That race whipped me good, but it was a good challenge It is a shame that there probably won't be another race there again.
What handguards are these?
Beduro. Made in Airdrie.
@@AB_Enduro Thanks man!
Thanks for the vids Ryan. REALLY wish I had more ambition this season and did the full series. 🍻🍻
Nice ride! There’s some digging down deep on them trails..!!
Thank you. Funny how we willingly sign up for this sort of abuse. And pay for the privilege. Lol
Yes boiii
Can't you go just one outing without having to "kick your bike down a hill".. LoL would've loved to see that.
it was sliding down properly and then it caught and yeeted itself lol @@ivormacfarlane6982
@@MitchOfCanada I suppose you'll need to take Terry and I there now for redemption. LoL
Ha awesome- I was at the bottom behind you at Jordi 2- waiting and I saw you clean that! I was stoked. I made it up for my second time shortly after and was happy to get through the jam twice!
Well done, great video.
Good riding and awesome video, thanks for posting!
Hey! I really appreciate your video’s and enjoyed the commentary! I live near Caroline Ab and have spent a lot of torturous hours riding with Jay Paradis🥴😬. It’s been a long time since I have raced, 40A looks fast! Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Nice work!
Great job Miller! You are one rad SOB!
I keep expecting to see some dinosaurs come running out from behind a hill. 😂👍
Good job. 👍
How are you liking your 300xc? What mods have you done to the bike for this type of racing?
Now that I have my power valve sorted out the bike is great. There is a set screw and nut in there that came loose and locked the valve open, while also wrecking the electronic actuator, as it occurred during a race and I pressed on. But no more codes blinking on the hour meter so it seems like the bike is well sorted now. As for mods, I run one tooth up in the rear (50 supersprox), DID 520ERVT chain, a gummy rear and Michelin mousses for mountain riding or anywhere else where pinch flats might occur. For protection I have Enduro Hog covers on the clutch and stator covers, AXP skid plate (now tied to the back of the frame because their mount bends and causes it to flap if your hitting lots of big obstacles), a Enduro Engineering tbi guard, Power Parts plastic rotor guard in the front and Tusk metal one in the rear, SRT rad guards, OEM fan kit with remote on/off (still runs off of rad temp but these will kill the battery so I manage that with the switch. One downfall of the XC is the weak stator). Lastly there are pull straps front and rear, along with those HDPE Beduro flags and some bar ends. So the main focus is protection for the bike and my hands really.
nice ride. How did you find the green map? did you consider the white as it was slippery?
Thank you. I don’t know if the green made any difference here. Not really riding on the pipe a whole lot. I just didn’t want to be asking for more power on any of the big hills, so went to green on the line just before we set off. In this terrain if you do start to spin no map is going to save you. Had there been more technical lines on our course then I likely would have swapped back to white.
@@AB_Enduro thanks for the feedback. Also have a race this weekend in loose conditions, with some hills, never know if the map really makes a difference
good work man! as someone that unfortunately didn't get through a whole lap I applaud you!
What’s are those hand guards
Beduro. A local company based out of Airdrie AB. They are great! Highly recommend.
To even ride this you are my hero! Not to mention the insanity you had to ride the day before!
Brutal course Ryan! Glad I sat that one out, I would have still been out there.
To my pleasant surprise I cleaned that fucking hill...Then fell apart soon after it haha
Great video Ryan, loved the commentary.
Good job Ryan! I was last in your class. You probably passed me on the first steep downhill of the A split after the ridge, I was the guy stuck on a tree for 30 minutes haha. Its neat reliving this course. At 19:21, is where I pulled over, laid in the moss to try to cool off. I took the same shit line at 20:42. That rock garden was HORRIBLE! Not a good race for me.
Thanks! Good to hear I wasn't the only one who had a hard time. I enjoy the challenge which is why i keep coming back for more! It's the only way to improve. Hope to see you out there again.
Man that looks like a tough fricken race.
Nice work buddy, i like the commentary 😎👍 just need a microphone..but my favorite video of yours yet
looks like a blast!
