Omar and Jim (at the drive-in) interview on Regeneration TV
Records being $10, and that being considered "too much" is hilarious through the eyes of 2024 lol
fanonshroom lol 😆
Jim and Omar seem like they're getting on really well here. Sad how it all went down. :/
Don’t get me wrong Sparta and The Mars Volta are great but I can’t even imagine how great a follow up to relationships of command would be if these guys stayed together
Somewhere in the multiverse Omar and Jim and Cedric are still friends, atdi never broke up and Volta and Sparta were their side projects ❤❤❤
5:29 I wonder if that's the same college of the footage that's in there one armed scissor video, cuase if so that student who asked that about vieques is a very historian smart cat.
The ending Lmaoo
She threw them out!
Chalino Sanchez playing in the background
4:00 this is what cedric was referencing in Cicatriz Esp when he says “sterling clear blackened ice”
7:32 Limp Biskit lol
Thank you ATDI for inspiring my band In Dept Tone
Link videos if y'all have any
I like how much omar appreciated the stanley kubrick comparison
You only get smarter from the open minded ethic -Jim Omar: thinking about the big wide open shot of the ocean of the Mars Volta beating Motley Crue for Grammy's XD JK, JOKES ppl. It did happen, Mars Volta rocked. Saw At The Drive In unite, that ALSO rocked! :-D Payed $100 JUST to see them ^_^ Money well spent! I'm the guy screaming all the lyrics at Lolla! Sorry audio guy XD
Try listening to ATDI without Jim's guitar (and vocals of course) and you'll hear Jim keep the band together. I guess I don't need to repeat that he's the founder of the band. Jim Ward is Punk in ATDI !!
jim is a huge part in atdi, listening to him and omar play completely different parts that sound great together is astounding, and his vocals really provide contrast to cedric's. thats why the reunion wasnt great (imo), they didnt have Jim, and Jim is a quintessential part of atdi.
6:54 what a fucking Karen
That school teacher sounds like a real piece of shit.
I was born in the naval base on the east side of Puerto Rico, same naval base where they would practice bombings in vieques.
What happened at the end lol
1,000**
At the drive in isn’t the same without Jim
it´s not only that... don´t get me wrong, I´m glad that omar and cedric got their shit together but them being barely adult, mad, angsty crackheads was kinda essential to atdi... they don´t make music meant to be played by sober dads and their latest record perfectly represents that... it´s an ali express version of themselves
high as fuck
"So sorry..."
Lol fuckn Chalino Sanchez jam to down
24? He looks like a baby... lol
Yea. De loused is great. Hell everything these guys come out with is great
Wrong band
Chalino Sanchez Playing in the background.........CLASSIC!!!!!
It's hilariou, NOW, that he didn't know how to use a computer back THEN. but it's understandable. i think he has a twitter now
I was staring at Omar's afro throughout the entire video.
Casual.
Ahyayai.. Jim talks way too much. I know it's an interview, but c'mon son.
@canthinkverywell i'm the same way. check out startled calf, the fall on deaf ears, and los dregtones if you havent already.
good ol' el paso music playing in the background
This is the best interview ever.
"YOUR NEW ALBUM SUCKS MOTHERFUCKER!" hahahahaha.... so good.
Derek is a beast of a man!!
Its luciforms!
No
LOVE <3 !
This would be so much better if the sound was in sync
@canthinkverywell hell yeah..omar is a musical genius
First time I ever heard ATDI and TMV was from a chic, she was awesome and i was stoned as fuck on both initiations! XD
can someone tell me the bands they mentioned? i caught some of them, but i just couldnt understand others. fugazi =]
In order: Led Zeppelin, Fugazi, Gang of Four, Thelonious Monk, U2, R.E.M., salsa music, Johnny Cash, Miles Davis and Kraftwerk. There was another one I didn't catch (sounds like Omar's saying Gus Pablo?)
@@ForeverGotShorter thank you!
@@thestormlscoming14 years later
LOL @ the Mexican music on the background!!! ha
man omar looks young
24 years old here, he says it right in the interview.
Well yeah, but in the end they all had different views on their future of the band. But yes you're right they were happy at the time. but now they chose their own courses. Jim and Tony went with Sparta and Cedric, Omar and Paul went with The Mars Volta.
paul was in sparta before tmv
yes
no
@@rustyfuzz470 maybe?
@@Ericlikestorun potentially
Are they talking about RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE when the say RAGE?
that would be a little overmark dont you think
rap sucks
Nice first comment XD Rap's NOT Hip Hop remember that
omar is so polite!
David James Not to mention handsome! 😍😘
Sounds like the security guard should be shot. Up his ass.
Jim was talking because omar doesnt seem to be very outgoing, wich is fine, hes artistic and brilliant, he can be shy, his talent makes up for it. You know if omar had been cutting jim off you and beth would be saying taht its okay because jim is a douche, goddamit, why does it matter if he talks if his points are valid?
Because it's not always about having to right. At that time Omar REALLY needed to check his ego regardless of how genius he was/is.
