This is a really decent vacuum. The best feature is that, unlike most other vacuums, ruclips.net/user/postUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g this model does not throw debris backward when the brush is activated. Suction is decent and height levels can be adjusted. It does a great job of picking up pet hair and doesn't leave a perimeter of hair/fur where a rug meets a hardwood floor....if you know, you know.

I use to love dyson but now after Shark nope. Shrak can just take the bin off wash it all dry it put back on. Least they make one that you can clean. All that dust builds up and at some point make it stop working way ot should. Dyson biggest down fall is not making it so you can clean it .

I took apart the canister too and I would have liked to see where the parts go. I was afraid some pieces migh be left out. Thank you anyway for this video! I had no clue this can be taken apart so much.

If worse comes to worse and the smell does not come out, disassemble everything. Separate the gaskets screws from the plastic components. Fill a 5 gallon plastic pail close to full of cold water. Add some vinegar to the water solution. Immerse the plastic parts in the solution and let sit submersed in the water for at least a week. Remove it from the solution. Fan dry the components in a garage on the rack making sure its fresh air, and the smell should be gone

Does this work on the V7 as well?

dyson is a terrible design. I have had so many issues with mine and it never worked well. I wish I could have saved my self wasting $900 plus Aud. I could have used that money on a Sebo or miele and had a well made high performing vacuum instead of a big lump of grey plastic!
