Schade, die Blockflöten werden von den anderen Instrumenten dominiert und kommen kaum zur Geltung. Jack's the Lad aka Sailor's Hornpipe ist eher englisch als irisch, und Highland Cathedral ist nicht mal schottisch, sondern wurde 1982 von zwei Deutschen komponiert.
Lieber Harald Wellmann, tja, das ist wirklich schade, dass du so einen Kommentar schreiben musst. Das was du hörst ist der Kameraton ca. 30m entfernt auf dem Balkon des Zeughauses, also weit weg von einer professionellen Tonaufnahme. Da kann das schon mal so klingen. Live war das anders... Mit Michael Korb (Highland Cathedral) war ich seinerzeit, als ich das arrangiert hatte, im regen Austausch, mir ist das durchaus bekannt 😉 Und die Hornpipe passt doch musikalisch, oder nicht? Was soll diese Schlaumeierei? Entspann dich mal und versuche, anstatt zu nörgeln, lieber die positiven Dinge zu sehen..! Denn ich denke, das was wir da gespielt haben geht viiiiel schlechter... 😉

Very well done, Mr Ralph. My, how that takes one back. Of course when our Party is elected we will institute compulsory recorder tuition at all schools in order to achieve sight reading proficiency countrywide. Sanity shall then at last prevail. (But first I must start a new Party.)
That one's valued at rather more than a penny! Here's an interesting suggestion for a cover of a British rock number. How's about "And You And I" from "Close To The Edge" by Yes? If you could get Jon Anderson to do the vocals (those surreal words are a must) and with that classic 70s synth solo in the hands of a competent synth player, I reckon it could work well with recorders. Worth your consideration, perhaps.

Hey Lee, thanks for your comment. I've been doing this professionally for decades and am very committed to the reputation of the recorder. That's why I arrange this music, record it and sometimes make videos about it. I don't really need to practise because I can do it, but I don't want that to sound arrogant! In this case, recording all the instruments in my studio took about 5 hours, the video shoot took an hour... 😉 Best wishes to your students! 🙋♂
