Subaudible Track from the movie "Irreversible"
Просмотров 54 тыс.7 лет назад
My curiousity about this movie came from it's audio track (I have disdain for the movie's actual content). Subaudible signals were used in the 1970's to heighten the experience of such movies as "Earthquake" and "Rollercoaster" which featured something called "Sensurround", a very interesting thing since low frequency rumble could not be included on the film's magnetic track or optical track at...

Big LED Matrix Display Sign
Просмотров 52912 лет назад
This is my 3 feet high by 6 feet wide scrolling LED matrix sign that I built. It uses 3 color LED modules from highway traffic signage, purchased from BGMicro Electronics. The controller is a Papilio development board using Xilinx Spartan 3E - papilio.cc and software core is AVR8 using Arduino C environment to program. Lambda power supplies and miles of wire.

74HC595 Serial Load Digital Discrete Output Board

Papilio & Arduino folks, This design uses 74HC595 serial shift register with data latch driving: 1) ULN2803 for current sink 2) UDN2981 for current source 3) Resistor DIP pack for driving LED arrays 4) Direct Digital for driving, well you know - whatever you want. www.joelowens.org/papilio for more information.
Pong on a scrolling LED sign? Yes! With a Papilio FPGA!
Просмотров 4,7 тыс.13 лет назад
Good grief, PONG has been everywhere. From early analog on oscilloscopes to some of the first game consoles ever. But was it intended to run on a 7x50 LED scrolling sign? Probably not. But with the Papilio board with its Spartan-3E FPGA by Xilinx, a 4-Button/4-LED Wing, a 16-bit I/O Wing and a few wires (well, plus a salvaged busted LED scrolling sign minus its processor) and away we go! While ...

I got a pair of Bose noise-cancelling headphones, I can hear it quite clearly. And yeah, I can see how this would make people feel sick, or at least uneasy. After listening for a few minutes straight, I'm not affected other than feeling the slightest bit antsy, and a tad annoyed, but I'm sure paired with the visuals of the movie and other audio, it could be offputting.
Reminds me a bit of the Olympic Hymn.
Simon Preston. 🎹 RIP.
"Play ball" !
The reason why this movie is still very good after so many years is because (almost) everything you see in the movie is real. Some of the actors got really hurt and they had to be careful that nobody got hit by a motorcycle.
Kind of sounds similar to the Holy Roman Empire anthem
(Semydeus brought me here) You can hear the sound if you're using headphones. It's a continuous frequency sound that passes that atmospheric-feeling-on-horror-movies-that-something-is-wrong. Kinda crazy... I don't recommend hearing for too long, you'll probably feel some agony on your ears or chills in your spine 😂
$.U.C.K. IT ya, god damn Peasant$
Excellent !! nice job !! My favorite part of the movie was this anthem. You nailed it !!
Love this song.... gives me chills. takes me back to my childhood when I saw this I was only 9.
A totally underrated film. Those who concentrate on the games miss the point
You are oh so right. This film shows the viewer a taste of the future that MIGHT be avoided.
The original Rollerball movie inspires me to make a scene in my book for DC comics where Kamandi and the Legends are placed in an arena to fight to the death against a team from an Earth not located on the Multiverse map. Strange coincidence the team is lead by the Sportsmaster.
This looks like our future. 😕🙄
worker's ANTH£M / $ ?
I think the director wanted to make us feel sick with this 27 Hz noise.
I can hear it but I feel absolutely nothing
I was Sent from Dylan the Night Owl, To me this is Relaxing, Why do People Find this Creepy, Is it in Context to the Movie, I Heard about what Occurs in it, So I Assume that it is Something from in the Movie!
Yeah, the sound combined with the way the movie's shot and edited, in addition to the action itself. Makes you on edge and queasy, very good movie
It's kind of relaxing
I heard the sound through my headphones but I didn't get any of the effects of sickness or hearing ringing afterwards I think that some of you guys just have undiagnosed tinnitus.
Headphones, there's your problem. You need to feel it in your body from a subwoofer.
idk if it's just my headphones but it sound like when im underwater and its just the sound of the waves
yoo when it hit 2:32
Aside from just making me feel kinda tingly in the sinuses, what's weird is that every time I pause and unpause (might just be my specific pair of headphones) there's a really pronounced popping sound
Yeah I get that too it's probably a universal thing I'd say but just your headphones.
I get that on monitors too. My guess would be that it is probably DC offset.
Sent from night owl, just sounds like the vibration an engine. I didn't even know my headphones can produce this sound! Like I can feel the depth!
But he never included the link.
@@Animebryan2 He probably forgor lol. Silly little owl.
We need the game now!
There was a game for Commodore 64 called Rocketball. 40 years ago 😮 had it.. played it.. and played it.....

Excellent editing! Well done!
A moment of silence for Jonathan E.
Am I alone in saying that I hear nothing but what appears to sound like a faint scratching of the Mic?
i hear nothing at all
Your speakers or headphones most likely can't reproduce this frequency.
Those uniforms do not provide much protection, LOL.
i'm listening this with my senheiser headphones and i can appreciate de sound is really shaking my head
i couldn't really here much in my room, but when i went to my kitchen it was shaking the cabinets and light fixtures
I hear nothing
yall this is weird af it made me feel kind of sick
This is what it supposed to do they put it in the movie for the vibe
@@κωστης-ι7ψ yes for the g club scene and r scene which are both sick

Epic !
jonathan, jonathan, jonathan, JONATHAN, JONATHAN, JONATHAN, JONATHAN, JONATHAN!!!
You people are full of shit…. This does litterally NOTHING… y’all are brainwashed with placebo
Well I don't think the purpose of this particular bit of sound design is to "work" on its own. It along with the rest of the sound design (blaring sirens, faux doppler effects etc) are meant to work in concert. The result of the whole is actually pretty neat! Super disorienting
Your headphones probably suck. I use the Moondrop Aria IEDs and it's very audible. Makes a huge difference. I can just barely hear the tones inside the rumble.
@@laeioun good for you bud
@@LOUTED What did you mean by “this does literally nothing”? If you can’t hear it, then maybe buy better headphones and test it before you assert that everyone except for you is brainwashed. What are you? Some kind of schizophrenic is what.
@@laeioun you heard what I said what do you mean what do I mean? you can hear inaudible wave lengths but you can’t hear what I just said ? lol
I swear, while watching the first half of this film, I nearly threw up from these tones, the spinning chaotic way that it's filmed, and the actual content of the film itself. Very unpleasant, but VERY effective
Sounds like a faded popping popcorn
Am i odd bc i really like this? It makes me feel like theres power in the air around me
At first I felt some tension, but forced myself to ease up to see if it was just me forcing myself to listen for it. I relaxed, my eyes kinda twitched a little, but I thought I felt fine... Them my wife phone rings and I jumped a little.
Thats fucking creepy😳
you can hear it if you wear headphones
Welcome to your world, 2021.
My whole body burns while listening to this (stoned)
Anyone else falling asleep? Just me ? I got so tired all of a sudden, I’m dozing off
Ehhh i got nausea
