Just a couple minutes into this I am impressed by the dispatcher.

A good dispatcher worth their weight in gold.

This is a complex scene. As a medic I've asked for 2 extra medics and 3 extra medics on 2 separate occasions. To start with an order for 5 medics and then additional medics later, this is tough one.

Report of smoke Receiving the box Central station alarm as well in an occupied hotel Car 2 has 2&1 response initially. Eng 2 is out of quarters and available as a 3rd engine, but C2 returns them to quarters. 🤦‍♂️ So Engine 2 returns to quarters, parks the engine , members get off the apparatus 🤦‍♂️ Then a second alarm is struck , so now Engine 2 crew gets all suited up, gets back on the engine and proceeds to the scene. 🤦‍♂️ I’m sorry but Engine 2 should have been sent the minute they were available to respond. You had the box, central station calling in , and PD reporting smoke at an occupied hotel. I’m just perplexed as to why Engine 2 wasn’t added to the response. This isn’t the time to be conservative with the response. The Deputy got complacent and thought it was just a regular old smells & bells call. Thankfully nobody was hanging out the windows or trapped on upper floors. Thankfully nobody was injured or worse. Although we all know Eng 2 probably stayed on the apron, fully loaded and ready to respond. I highly doubt (based on the circumstances)the officer of Eng 2 actually backed into quarters and dismounted. He was ready to go as soon as the 2nd alarm was struck. 👍 When seconds count he knew to be ready to respond. Unlike C2 who hopefully learned a valuable lesson today.

Thanks for the video. I liked hearing the firefighters saying they were bringing people out. I did read a news article that four were injured, including three children. I hope they recover quickly.
