@djambalawa Our systems are really for larger vessels, generally 120' and up. Just for example, a ZeroSpeed system with a QP2020 powerpack includes two 20HP electric motors. As fin travel and fin speed are functions of the control's response to sea conditions, the power consumption varies during use relative to demand, and that demand is determined by the electronics in the control and fin position sensors. At any moment you might need between zero and 20 HP in this example.
This system works underway as well as at anchor. Underway, fin movements are smaller as the fins generate lift by moving through the water. Stability underway is excellent. There is always a drag penalty when generating lift, but our fins are designed to minimize drag while maximizing lift. Efficient stabilization creates a comfortable ride which enhances crew endurance and safety.
