I used to service the alarm systems at Kroger stores across multiple states, and one time I was at a Kroger in Richmond, VA with my crew, trying to troubleshoot a faulty zone. I remember seeing this alarm going off several times, and was trying to figure out why (we didn't install it). Well, I noticed that every time a woman pushed her shopping cart past the emergency exit on her way to the restroom, the wheels would lock and the alarm would go off. I kept watching woman after woman almost trip over and fall face-forward because of the abrupt stop. Their carts would get stuck in place and refuse to move. Keep in mind, they weren't shoplifting. They just happened to walk too close to an exit on their way to the bathrooms, which was impossible _not_ to do. So these poor old ladies are *forcefully dragging* their little shopping carts across the floor with all their strength, getting frustrated because they have to pee and their carts are locked in place, alarms are going off, the employees were freaking out... it was truly a sight to see at 9 o'clock in the morning. 😭😭😭😭😭
