Ich war 9, als dieses Rennen stattfand und muss sagen, dass ich noch heute Jochen Mass als eine Fehlbesetzung empfinde (im Vergleich zu Christian Danner). Ich mag einfach seine Art zu kommentieren nicht, aber das ist wahrscheinlich eine Geschmackssache. ;)

Ich glaube dass es kaum eine Strecke gab, auf der dieses Monster derart brachial zur Geltung kam. Über 800 PS, über 16k Umdrehungen pro Minute, 3.5 Liter-V12, knallrot, schwer zu fahren und unfassbarer Sound, der bis heute unerreicht ist.

At Silverstone Brundle's engine appeared to explode just as the starting lights turned green. In reality the culprit was a clutch that cracked spilling its lubricants on top of the hot engine causing a spectacular fire.

@c6gav Check your facts before you go making stupid statements like this. During Michael Schumacher's first career, the only team mate he ever had who could match his speed was Brundle. He had some horrific luck in his career and should have really done better. Oh and just fyi, "it's who you are in life"? Brundle was nobody, he fought his way up. Compare that to Vettel and Hamilton who have been babysat by their teams since they were kids.

Mclaren were disqualified because rockets are illegal in f1. Still didn't work though... :/

@Neitschel The flywheel was destroyed, it's between the crankshaft and the clutch if I'm right. So with a bit of luck a destroyed flywheel must not mean that there is an engine failure.

If you read Brundle's book "Working the wheel" he says that Peugeot changed the piston rings to get more power but no one told him to modify his start technique. He held 13-14,000rpm as normal and dropped the clutch, all the oil went straight past the rings and out the back through the exhausts. The team chose to say nothing so as not to upset Peugeot. Martin was not at fault.
