It’s pronounced Guinea Sacks! My mom has a funny story about how a long time ago poor/frugal moms made their girls’ dresses from the fabric that sacks of flour came in. Well that was 30 years prior when she was a kid and these Gunne Sax dresses were popular. So she saw a woman in a pretty dress and said “is your dress a Gunne Sax?” The woman was horrified that this little girl thought her dress was made from a sack like in the olden days.
