My next car once I get rid of my current ones
it looks beautiful. i hope it will be built. but i guess there are difficulties to get the right battery to achieve these numbers. behind the doors i am pretty sure there are talks with companies who are about to achieve that and are currently on the way to scale up their shit. like storedot, amprius etc. batteries with the right spec are probably painful expensive. i guess we are not talking about 20% more but 200%. maybe they have a plan to upgrade. starting with an "affordable" battery like in a macan/taycan and giving the customer the option to upgrade later, when new battery tech is available. that would be a great solution. maybe dividing it in two independent batteries with two inverters/charging units where you can mix battery chemistries. this way you could upgrade only one half and get some benefits while keeping an eye on the budget (if people who can afford that car still have an eye on the budget) but imagine a 70kWh GEN1 battery when buying and after 5 years changing one 35kWh battery to a better 45kWh GEN2 battery which gives you a total of 80kWh, extra range and charging speed. and 5 years later you change the GEN1 to a GEN3 battery with 50kWh resulting in 95kWh in total. These types of sports cars are usually well thought after and have a life of over 20 or 30 years if not demolished. that means, they need an optional plan to upgrade their batteries and also keep their electronics and software compatible for a long long time. 20 years later you don't get the old motherboards for the infotainment touchscreen anymore. that means you need a new one that can run the old software or an upgraded software.
