Love this place, it's been blocked off now so you can't go inside for safety reasons, but you can see most of it. Always visit when the bluebells are out and say a little prayer.

My Webster ancestors were from Lydiate, and would have been very familiar with the old Abbey and the Scotch Piper. Some years ago while watching a video about the abbey I noticed my 2nd great grandfather John Webster's name scratched into the stonework! If indeed it was him then it probably dates from the late 1850s. 😊 Thanks for a really interesting video, much appreciated.
