I Have Left The Pallet Industry!
Просмотров 490Год назад
After over 4 years of delivering pallets and all sorts to places in the north west of Scotland, I have left the industry. I this video, I explain why I thought it was time for a new start. I am still driving as it is something that I do really enjoy but it is now in a part of transport that suits me better and is also remotely linked to one of my passions that being cars. I hope you enjoy this ...

Kelsea Ballerini- Your Drunk Go Home - Glasgow 2023
Very nostalgic. Much appreciated. Put this to music or just silence would be an improvement though.
We were in Oban back in May during our 2-week road trip visit to Scotland. Loved your country, the land of my ancestors! Wish I could go back!
I was standing round the other side last year, might have to try this corner in August, looks like plenty of action
this corner plus the first few r defiantly the best for any action well worth it
Where are you from? Don’t sound very obanny
Na dude😂. I’m from Glasgow area👍🏻
@@CAB_18 I stayed on Bonawe road, moved down to Loch Lomond
Obans a lovely place. I would stay in the Lancaster hotel traveling from Northern Ireland on my motorcycle from time to time..
What are you driving? So smooth xxx😊
MAN TGS 26ton curtainsider.
One silly driver vehicle puts you in the ditch because they dont know the road
I'm so glad a professional driver understands.i drive a b max and i just think some dick is gonna innialate me on a bend
Hey.. sexual❤❤
Travelled that road more times than I can remember. Loch Avich is a lovely drive down to Melfort too.
Nice to see you back. Glad I'm not out on the bike in that weather.
Thanks! Been hard to record due to work but hopefully I will be getting back into it more now🙂
what vehicle you driving ?
i was driving a 26 ton curtainsider in this video
Great drive, I want to go, where the exact entry after tindrum? If coming from glencoe side is it after or before Tindrum, left or right from road?
this was an access road to get to a site where work was getting carried out so its no open to the public unfortunately
Thanks very much for this nice video, - l have very much enjoyed it.
Moments silence dor the millions handed over to GEOROPES which achieved zilch otger than lining pockets. Amazing what having a friend in parliament can do. Each and every employee working there when asked openly admitted they were achieving absalutamente nada, but happy to take the money whike it was going. Follow the money. Georopes, Ballachulish
Do you work for a local firm
I used to but have recently changed jobs
Hello
Hi there🙂
How did you remove the old side indicator? I'm having big trouble removing it....
It was a bit of a pain. I had some interior trim tools that I used to remove it. The light is just held in by some clips. You do have to be a bit forceful. I would recommend putting a rag or cloth around the tool just to stop it damaging the paint. I think I put my tool in to the bottom of the light then just slowly prided at it. You do have to move the tool u r using around the edge of the light so that the clips release. It is a massive pain no going to lie.
@@CAB_18 Thanks for the reply, I tried putting a rag around a small flat-head screwdriver and went to town with it, damaging the paint a bit without any success whatsoever... I tried the plastic trim tools, but one actually snapped and left plastic inside the crevis... such a pain to remove, I'll try again once I have some better tools.... Thanks for the reply!
Brings back a lot off happy memories
Spectacular journey (just ignore Savile's old house) I'm from Oban & rarely have reason to take this road, and although there are some breath-taking views, what I always thought it would benefit from is a snack shop or van, even a little petrol garage, because there is literally nothing but scenery from Tarbet to Fort William. That's just my strange diabetic brain though as I was once caught short & my blood sugars were dipping dangerously low while on a journey. For that reason, I always feel better if there are amenities nearby. Here's an idea...Why doesn't someone open Jimmy's old house as a tea room & shop. It would benefit travellers of all types, including a lot of hillwalkers. And anyway, it shouldn't be known as that evil perverts old home. It should be known as the world-renowned mountaineer Hamish MacInnes's, who lived there until 1987. Great video 👍
And that is why I sold my car. I can get from one end of the town to the other in minutes. And in winter, it's a ghost town.
Spoke too soon!
It was always going to happen again😅🤷🏻♀️
I never cease to be amazed at the the perseverance of those nameless govt bureaucrats who faithfully arrange for a roadsign in every single passing place. What WOULD we ever do without this wonderful aid? 🤣
The idea of maneuvering a big lorrie in those tight streets just blows my mind!
Stunningly beautiful scenery. Thanks for sharing this! 👍
In the Summer of 22 I put a thousand miles on my rental car driving the highland roads of Scotland. That includes this section of A82 as well. It was my first trip to Scotland and I hope with all my heart it wasn’t my last! I loved every second of that eleven days, and every mile driven.
P R O M O S M
Thank you for sharing your travels . I remember this beautiful part of Scotland , its absolutely stunning ❤
Stabilize the slopes with trees, will need Scots Pine as well. Slower growing but has an exceptional root spread. The road should also be on stilts. IMO
Put a lid over the top, like they do throughout the Alps.
I'll be there in late October enroute Inverary. Hope it'll be done by then. All night flight and driving on the left will be a good enough challenge.
Outstanding video log of Glencoe and Ballachulish. I'm off to those parts as well as Etive, Oban and Kinlochleven in November.
Cool! My dad was a stuntman in the states. Would love to race
Not boring at all! Absolutely beautiful, could watch this hours! I love scotland ❤
Good luck in the new job!
I hope you're happy and healthy in your new transport job.
Sounds like a change was needed, "age" limit on moving heavy goods. Less taxing on the body, longer working life!!! ❤️🇦🇺
Im glad you're doing something less taxing. Sometimes we have to make a change. All the best!
Hearing you mention fuel prices- ⛽️ Living in Tasmania, Australia, Diesel is now around $2.20 per litre, near £1.40. Always dearer than petrol that I have noticed. (Female) I learned to drive in an unregistered truck, on a farm paddock in 1958.. Have always taken an interest in vehicles, Father had a transport business, not huge, several employees though. We had a fuel pump in our property, Shell Co during the 1940's 50's and 60's... Then eventually worked in Logistics for an Interstate Freight company.. Enjoyed your delivery video..
Instead of causing tailbacks why don't they open the Road IN the Glen , like they used to because of land slides .
Another great vlog mate you need to do more of these mate roll on the weekend btcc back on at croft are you going to knockhill?
I’ll see what I can do😁. Oh Yh wouldn’t miss the BTCC at Knockhill even if it’s raining.
looks absolutely breathtaking there i'm coming to glencoe in september can't wait thank you for a lovely video x
Does that road perhaps take you over the rest and be thankful. I may be in the wrong area, no harm is asking though.
no. the road you are thinking of is the A83. At Tarbet the road splits, continue straight and you join the A83 up and over the rest and be thankful or turn right and you continue on the A82 towards Oban/Fort William. Im happy to answer questions so ask away🙂
Wonderful views up in the Highlands, I use to go every year usually stayed at Invergarry (25ml north of Fort William) nothing there, but a good location to get anywhere in the Highlands. I can't drive the long distance to get there now, I miss it everyday........❤️
I enjoyed it. I’d find the job far too nerve wracking to do, though.
Another negative from the days of Beeching. All your deliveries would have been easy in the days of the mechanical horse and the Scarab. Load from the railway a container or boxes/pallets from a rail van in Oban rail depot. Modern addition would be a tail lift or piggy fork lift on the trailer. A tractor unit which can turn in its own length. Disadvantage a bit slow in its original form (30mph approx.) so local deliveries only. But while you deliver another trailer can be loaded. A modern alternative as used in Europe and the US is to put the loaded trailers on the train but this assumes the bridges and tunnels are wide and high enough, though one Swiss narrow gauge railway had containers and flat cars to suit its tunnels and bridges only recently updated to take standard containers in well car wagons.
I was there last week. I was sodden, but that's part of the bargain with that exquisite scenery. Thank you x
the joys of the scottish weather😂
Lol .. Nothing 😂
Agree, Oban is hopeless for traffic. As for pedestrians try playing loud the tune from M.A.S.H., the film.,Ie Suicide is Dangerous? or the Who, deaf, dumb and blind kid. Pinball wizard.
I have seen that there was ment to be a 470m tunnel like Lochcarron hope your well mate take it easy
