Rare 1973 GMC Funk Machine
Introducing the "Funk Machine", a 23' 1973 GMC Motorhome. Prepare to be wowed by a vehicle light years ahead of it's time. This motorhome was in my top 10 before I bought it and did any extensive research, but is now among my favorites not only for style, but for its engineering excellence. I cover a surface description of what I like about the ride and what sets it apart from the rest of the motorhomes of this era.

Yes sir.. yes sir ..nice, very nice.. but the problem I'm running into is that there are so many RV parks that won't allow you in if it's older than a 2017 or 14 I don't remember.. as nice as your rig is I don't know what RV Park in Texas would allow you in????? I'm very frustrated with that my rig is a 2007 and it's very nice.. but not allowed in certain places because of the age????

What is small access panel on driver's side?
It’s the access panel for where the fridge was originally located. I keep my fresh water supply in that compartment now along with some surf gear
Hello, I have #100 chalet. I was wondering if there was any way you could tell me how the wiring for the converter is set up because mine is taken apart and I want to figure out how I can get the converter to work so I can have power without plugging in an extension cord. Thanks! I love the old rigs and making new memories in them. This motor has actually been completely overhauled to the tune of 20k plus. I’ll have to do a follow up walk thru and showcase it

Man I wanted one so bad I was 16 when the local dealership had one on its showroom floor!
I would have installed solar on the top I think .rather than all that other stuff . Perhaps racks for that other on the back .also Id of made it completely no dependant on shore power .

Awesome! I have never seen one of these before. Lots of great ideas went into this camper. The low profile helps when you're in the trees and reduces wind resistance on the highway. I like the hammocks, the walk-through cab design, 4WD. Really cool rig.

OMG Rob. I remember wanting one of these so bad as a kid. Grody Chevrolet in W. Hartford Ct had 3 of them, wind up in front,one was green with plaid seats another white and I think your color as well. I was 14 in 76, these got more attention than the Corvettes and Camaros, it is probably one of the most versatile machines made.Could be driven daily to work, used as a pickup truck, and a family of 4 could go away for the weekend. It's perfect just the way it is, does not need to be painted,, under the hood is so simple that it doesn't take a computer geek to figure out. Even the rims are rust-free.A Swiss army knife and Leatherman tool on Wheels. It's nice that you've kept it alive and ready for somebody else to enjoy.. I also love that GMC motorhome in the back, a lot of good products came out of the 70s. Thank you for making this video ,it took me back to my childhood. 👍
