Nice comparisons! I am about to get 34 string - so yeah I am sure the tension is different for each one. :) I learned to play harp and my teacher had a pedal - so I have played pedal but I found it difficult to play - so glad I prefer lever harp. ;)

Definitely no disrespect to the harpsicle, it is great for what it is, and it really shone on that O Carolan piece, but man, when you shifted to the bigger harps on the first two tunes, their extra heft and strings just changed the entire feel of both pieces! The difference was even greater than I expected. I'm currently deciding what to get for a first harp, so this was a very useful video. I will have to think a little more now on where I am likely to want to "go" musically in the next few years, rather than assuming I can just modify pieces to whatever I have and that I'll like the resulting sound. Thanks so much!
