After being off of the radio for about 20 years I've decided to give it another run. I'm having alot of fun and I have alot of plans and ideas for the future. Let's see where we can take this. Conditions were not good at all for me today. I could here a lot and then none and then the Northeast Corner and then none and...... John in Montreal came in well though. I heard him over everything and he could hear me. Great contact.

Triple 7 had beautiful audio and we had a great QSO that actually picked back up a few minutes after this ended but I had a video failure exactly at the end of this clip.

Antennas are fine. We had very little wind but nearly 12-15 inches of rain over 3 days. Hope everything is good on your end. ✌✌

I hope so. I have to turn the dead key down on the Quad 5 before I start messing with it. I'm hoping to find someone who knows a little about the inners or has a manual. I read some conversations mentioning jumpers for 11meter and that they're not needed. It appears factory sealed so.... ✌✌

We haven't had much wind at all but we're around 5-6 inches of rain. They're saying a possible15-30 inches before it's gone. I dropped the antenna down to around 12-13 feet probably a week ago for a thunderstorm and haven't heard enough activity to make me put it back up yet. ✌✌

Great contacts my friend and hoping to get another contact (or two) with you.. it's usually towards mid August I start to hear stateside in the UK let's hope the skip Gods play ball.. it's been a miserable summer this year in the UK so far with multiple flares killing the skip.. for a solar maximum year you would think things would be better.. take it easy friend.

Great Contacts. AM is fun to work. That Deer slayer from Lake Okeechobee makes a great trip into California. Thats the same deal with me. I wish I could talk to the guys up in Fresno and Sacramento areas. Im trying to get that 1220 Golden gate. I heard him one night on short skip, but I could not make the trip. I try for Popcorn but still no luck from My area.

Not everything I buy is purchased specifically for me to keep or use for myself. This amp is right in line to the specifications of what I'm looking for and by the research I've done should do what I want. That being said, I haven't found any manuals or articles from RM to confirm any of the research I've done. If I find this is not for me, I'll gladly send it down the road to a shack that can use it. ✌✌

Me too. I've got to figure out how to turn back the power on the Quad 5 and whether or not anything needs to be changed on the amp. It definitely has the appearance of untouched. ✌✌
I Have not owned one, but I have talked on two different versions of that same amp. Be careful those pills are easy to blow up and at one point were hard to get, ( according to 515) but I liked the amps anyway.
I've read the little I've been able to find and seen broad variations of input so I'm not doing anything until I can find something in print...... ✌✌

Conditions have been very rough here in norcal all week. I did hear you last week though. Although im only in a mobile with a wilson 1000 and quad 5 anytone so my ears are limited when the conditions are poor. 73s from sac,ca 211
Yes indeed, conditions have been all over the place. I got on for about 30 minutes yesterday and only got a couple of returns and the heat is terrible in my shack. I don't have enough power at the moment to run equipment and an A/C so it's nothing to see 100 degrees. We'll catch you again soon. ✌✌
