I just recently quit my job as a cleaner in a Care Home. All the cleaners there were treated like absolute sh*t by the Care Team Leaders. Everything that went wrong was blamed on us; even if it was something that the Carers did, it was pinned on us. I was working 10+ hour shifts back to back with no breaks in-between, and half the time, I was being asked to do three jobs at once. It was like the upper management saw us as machines, and not human beings. I had so many panic attacks whilst working there just from the amount of stress I was under. The Care Home has 112 bedrooms, and most of the time there'd only be me and two other cleaners. Half the time none of them could be bothered to even show up for their shift, leaving two cleaners for 112 bedrooms, six dining rooms, four lounges, the stairways, hallways, and all the dusting on top of that. One time, I was the only cleaner who'd shown up for my shift. So I was completely on my own with 112 bedrooms to clean. It was horrible. I was on bank too. Eventually I just couldn't take the pressure anymore and I handed in my notice. I spent three years in that facility being treated like I was little more than a robot. It was no surprise that the company was losing staff left and right. Guess people tend to get fed up with working for you when you're not even treating them like actual human beings.
How can I connect with you for help? I just got a job as a ltc swkr

Music therapy student here, i would reccomend looking up where the nearest music therapy school is to you! also try to volunteer under a music therapist to actually see one in work. there's so many different avenues other than long-termcare, mental health work, kids, find out whats in your own community!
@@luluperry5622 thank you for the reply!
Becoming a music therapist is my dream :) I hope I can make it work!
Thank you for this very informative presentation . I would like to know what are the early symptoms of primary progressive aphasia ? A symptom that will get a person to see a neurologist ? Sometimes my husband will use a wrong word. For example : Please put the ice cream back in the ( fridge ) in stead of ( freezer) It this normal for a 64 year old man with bipolar depression and anxiety. He tells me it only happens when he's depressed and struggling with anxiety and having brain fog which he has often.. He refuses to see a neurologist. He speaks fine and has no word finding difficulties. Is this phenomenon normal for his age and giving that he struggles with a psychiatric disorder ? or is it a early sign of PPA ? I would really appreciate your reply. Thank you.
That’s why I’ve always picked housekeeping over CNA for now anyways, but if it pays a little bit more I’ll go back to CNA… sometimes I do miss working with the residents, it’s fun and they crack me up 😂

My Grampa Joe and Aunt Susan are famous!! This is a beautiful video., so well done 👏. Wonderful program for everyone! Connection is most important in this world ! ❤️
Hi! I’m Emily. I am a military wife and just graduated with my bsw about a year ago. For a little bit of time, I was a Volunteer Outreach Coordinator for an elderly organization, then became an Activities Assistant I'm able to spend a lot of time with memory care residents, lead culture talks, and keep theories like existential, adlerian, systems, strengths etc in mind. I am learning about validation theory right now. I didn’t know I would enjoy working with the elderly so much, so I didn’t concentrate on that area when I was studying. I want to be able to use some more of my social work skills in my job and maybe learn more about grief counseling and care planning, so I might be able to implement that too. Do you know any good resources for those topics? I am going to be taking the NCCDP once I have had this position for a year.
I been a house keeper in a long term facility for 4 years . I like it but the facility expects you to do two people jobs at time when there short, plus they want you to do your job but not be seen . I just realized that Doctors and nurses are the only professions who get a decent pay and all other professions are grossly underpaid !Take taking a CNA coarse cost $800 and $1600 dollars to get certified and only getting paid $ 2 dollars more than housekeepers get paid ,
Exactly! I was a CNA now I’m in housekeeping at a nursing home. I want to get back to CNA because we’re getting more money now.
This eas excellent, thank you so much!
I want to send two or three person toward this center my mom and dad and husband
Hello… I have the cure… VERY EFFECTIVE… everything disappears from malice to depravity, even phobias, hallucinations, suicidal instincts, anxiety, delusions, panic caused by third parties, including the most stubborn depressions. On our knees and with hands joined, we do not separate our hands, otherwise we lose contact. Recite our Father several times throughout the day; ave Maria: glory to the Father. when useless thoughts disappear; that is the moment. Hello God the Father… and you tell him your problem, asking him for his intervention. The important thing is not to forget the help you receive. Prayers can be carried out out of necessity even when working or in a car; So don't forsake God!.
