Brightly coloured Python in Brisbane Aust - Rainbow Serpent
There are tonnes of wild animals in Australia. My parent's yard has many such as possums, bandicoots, cockatoos and wallabies. Today I saw the baby python from the monster one that lives there.
Sadly I only had a cheap phone with me, so the pictures aren't the best. Though it still captured the bright colours the pythons scales reflected. Making it feel like a rainbow serpent.
Remember to keep your distance from wildlife and let it go about it's business undisturbed.

Japoticaba Tree growing in SE Queensland (Brazilian Grape)
Просмотров 3821 день назад
I live in Brisbane, Australia and we do have some warm tropical weather, yet I never expected a small house plant to grow into a large fruiting tree. This is it's second year fruiting and I am so excited about it. What else could I do but share it with others.
KickAss Camping Fan - Is it easy to clean?
Просмотров 2621 день назад
I've been using my KickAss fan daily now for several months, and it is getting pretty dirty. When purchasing a fan, you do not always think about the cleaning process and how hard or easy it will be. So I thought I'd clean mine and show you how easy it is. I'm sure it's a job you can do too! All you need is a phillip's head (cross) screwdriver and something to wipe it down. It couldn't be any s...
REVIEW KickAss Quickfire Portable 600W Electric BBQ - comparing gas, 12v & Induction camp stoves
Просмотров 8916 месяцев назад
Today I'm reviewing my new KickAss Quickfire Portable 600W Electric BBQ which I purchased. Then I got thinking whether it heated as quickly as other portable cookers on the market such as gas, induction and 12 volt appliances. So I think my review video has become a comparison video. I'm trying to find the best cooker for travelling, camping and van life. Obviously the resources available to yo...
REVIEW - Comparing my cheap Temu Fish Trap with my BCF/Kmart trap
Просмотров 2687 месяцев назад
I've been using a few fish traps in the local creeks and have successfully caught swordtails, gudgeons and rainbow fish. Thought I'd compare my cheap Temu trap with a slightly more expensive one. There are obvious differences yet is it worth getting the more expensive ones? You decide!

REVIEW - KickAss Camping Fan with LED Light and Power Bank (for car camping van life)
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.7 месяцев назад
Australia is hot. Day or night. Winter or Summer as I live in sunny Queensland. I've owned plenty of fans and been unhappy with most. The Sirocco II in my caravan is a delight, but when I'm car camping I need something more portable. Yet it has to be reliable and not need recharging too often. After much searching, I purchased the KickAss fan and want to share my experience with you! My next re...

Swordtails, Platys & Rainbow Fish - Pond Underwater ASMR Relaxation Video
Просмотров 217 месяцев назад
Feel serene and mellow as you watch the fish go about their life. Relaxation music attached, with no talking or other inserts so you can loop it easily. Went to record inside one of my ponds for a video, forgot about it and captured 50 minutes of the fish swimming around. Instead of wasting the film, I've added mellow music to create a relaxation video.
Catching creek Swordtails, with a cheap Temu fish trap, for my ponds (Australia)
Просмотров 4427 месяцев назад
Elle and I love peeking into the local waterways and seeing what fish are thriving. With our cheap Temu fish trap and a hotdog sausage we catch some lovely Swordtails, Platys and Rainbow fish. Most are released back except for any invasive species which can't be. Instead we pop them in our ponds to live out their life. Well fed and looked after without being a danger to local species. I just lo...
Catching Gold Mystery Snails in the local creek (Capalaba Australia)
Просмотров 2277 месяцев назад
The spike-topped apple snail or mystery snail, is a South American species of freshwater snail with gills and an operculum - a plate like door which they close to protect themselves. In Australia it is classed as an invasive species which needs to be removed. We headed to Coolnwynpin Creek in Capalaba (QLD, Australia) to assist in the removal of some for my pond. Though we did not see many fish...
Using a cheap TEMU fish trap to see what's in my local creek - Crimson Spotted Rainbowfish Australia

A day by the creek catching small gudgeons & rainbow fish using a cheap Temu fish trap. Plus I'm testing my new budget action camera to see how waterproof it really is. I just really want to spot some little fishies! Oh, I'd love to find some mystery snails too!

Hi mate, very clear review but you didn't cover the speeds and how much power that little fan on high would blow.. I'm searching for this in reviews currently and come across your review.. keep up the good reviews.

Thanks for your feedback. By fan power do you mean tested with a wind meter? As I do have one here, and could check.

Nice work, how well do they work at keeping the heat out?

      @dashstarkey 2 месяца назад

Thanks for your reply. I feel they are doing well at keeping it cooler in spring/summer. Not only does the silver side (pressed firmly on my glass) reflect light and heat, the rear thickness restricts any air transfering the heat inwards as compared to thinner silver sunshades (which I find reflect light yet the vehicle still gains warmth). We are hitting our full summer in Queensland so I will have a good chance to test them further. I'll have to pull out the temperature gun.

There are also many invasive aquatic plants you could collect from those areas for your pond as well such as kidney leaf mud plantain and water lettuce

Good idea. I might have to investigate what those plants look like, as I'd prefer not to take native ones.

Amazing idea, which park is this? do these fish require flowing water only? Can they tolerate still water ponds?

We were on the northside of Brisbane, as there are many accessible creeks and waterways. Many are near walking paths. We do not take all that we catch, sometimes none. We have enough in tub ponds at home with a foam filter (in the tub) and often a small water pump filter (edge of tub) creating a small current. We've been using cheap K-mart water pump ones. The fish love a current and in a healthy tub with plenty of plants, both the snails and fish grow well. Some tubs don't have the side filter, and another has a floating solar flower which shoots water up, enough to break surface tension and aerate.

Great work! it's good to see word got around and we all put a dint in the population, it's a good spot to re-visit over and over just to keep them down, they are cool in na aquarium but unfortunately don't belong in our waterways, Thanks for your help 🙂

Great video, I collected some of these for my aquarium. Although they are invasive in the wild in Australia, when kept in captivity, they are not are not able to spread. These are actually sold at some aquarium shops for around $5 each.

1.245kg or 2.74 pounds. Thanks for the question, I had not thought about the weight which is important when travelling.
