Sasan Gir railway station is a small railway station in Gir Somnath district, Gujarat. Its code is SASG. It serves Sasan Gir village. The station consists of one platform. The platform is well sheltered. It has many facilities including water and sanitation.
Metre-gauge railways are narrow-gauge railways with track gauge of 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) or 1 metre.
The distance between the two tracks is 3 ft 3 3/8 inches or 1,000 mm. The meter gauge lines are made to reduce the cost. Under project Unigauge, all the meter gauge lines except the Nilgiri Mountain Railway which is legacy run on a meter gauge in India will be converted into broad gauge.
