005. 6 fold Islamic Geometric Pattern
6 fold Islamic Geometric Pattern from Daud Sutton's 'Islamic Design: A Genius for Geometry'
I'm sure Richard has taught me this pattern too, but this time I did figure it out myself :)
Nevertheless, crediting Mr Henry as I should :)

Step by step (follow me as you do it) instructions for the breath of the Compassionate pattern. I make a mistake right at the end, but I’ll post a step by step Adobe Illustrator video to correct that later! :)

What is the application you are using?
Merci
Which software is this? What is the Instagram id?
Hi nazira! This is so interesting I've always wanted to know how to construct them but I didn't know where to look. I'm so glad I found your video. Have you deleted your Instagram account? I can't seem to find you. Hope you're OK x
Hi Amna Awww I’m glad it’s useful. I plan to upload a few more in April إن شاء الله And yes, I have closed my account for a while. I think maybe a year if I can stay away. It’s such a distraction and I need to focus. I’m sure I’ll be back eventually!
Please feel free to ask anything here in the meantime. I don’t check it often, but I’ll do my best to help ♥️

Mesmerising! Thank you for sharing 🙏
Thank you
Thankgod I stumbled across this! Please make more videos! Also do you know how to fix a loose compass
Hi Maidah. It depends on the compass and whether it is all metal or has plastic components. If plastic - you may be able to use a screw driver and tighten it briefly and it may even be a frequent tuning exercise at the beginning of every pattern. They aren't the best. If the wheel is plastic, it could be worn, in which case it may not be possible to tighten. Metal ones are usually fairly straight forward with a mini screw driver... It's difficult to say without seeing it up close...
This is fantastic. A slower paced hand drawing would be super. I will attempt this and tag you
Beautiful video, full of kind instructions. Thank you! Regarding the auspicious number eight, you may add to your list: The Noble Eightfold Path is an early summary of the path of Buddhist practices leading to liberation from samsara, the painful cycle of rebirth. The Eightfold Path consists of eight practices: right view, right resolve, right speech, right conduct, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right samadhi.
What program are you using please this is really clever
Hey there. Just using Adobe Illustrator :)
@@nazirabibi3233 Thankyou
I think your ramblings are just as interesting as your instructions! And you really make it seem approachable! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much!
Please do give it a go and don't be frightened! Enjoy it and you'll end up falling in love, I swear it!
This is amazing, definitely I will do it... its nice to see you on twitter too.
This is absolutely amazing
AZ1Z MCM haha. Thank you. It’s some basics. I will try and do more soon as people seem to really enjoy it, so do stay tuned or follow me on insta: @pomegranates :)
Nazira Bibi I'm about to create a design within an arched space from here. @alalwaanislamicart
Nazira, this is great! You are a fab teacher! Look forward to more video tutorials!
Susan Dobrian Thanks my lovely! Will try and get onto it as soon as my tripod arrives! Haha!
As salam alaikum from saudi arabia! Really, really loved watching the video. You've explained it perfectly. Insha Allah will be trying it over the weekend. Tag you on instagram when I'm done!
Wa alaykum as salaam I'm so glad you enjoyed it! DEFINITELY give it a go. I look forward to seeing how you get on. I made one tiny mistake. The centre of the crosses is not a X. It's actually an 8 pointed star. If you place a circle from the centre that touches the corners, you should be able to easily place an 8 pointed sta within it. IF I have time, I will try and upload an additional tutorial if I can compose it on my laptop. :)
Great stuff, thanks for sharing!
