Easy LVP flooring gap repair
Hey everyone, I put in luxury vinyl plank, LVP, flooring in almost 4 years ago and some rooms like the kitchen are showing gaps on the ends of the panels. I’ve tried other repairs like small fillers or replacing panels but this fix was something that I saw online that I wanted to try.
Turns out it’s pretty easy- way easier than the other methods.
You’ll need a hammer, double sided carpet tape, a vacuum, and some tools to clean the dirt that built up in the gap.
Be sure to use a reasonably flat 2x6 with minimal cupping. Your lumber yard or home improvement store can help you find a board and cut it down if you need assistance.

Something that should be mentioned. You do not want to pry the black plugs from behind the washer. I did, and it was not pretty. Ruined the whole installation, and now I might have to have the whole thing replaced. You want to pry in BETWEEN the back washer and the actual plug. So many videos do not mention this, and it's pretty important.
Be careful with any prying! It should come easily. Thanks for the tip
What is the maximum range?
Devices like this, including devices that measure as far as 120 metres, are very common on Amazon and Temu. I have bought two of them, a Milessey 100 meter S2 and and Aicevoos 120 meter unit. I have not yet tested them to their full range. My one regret, which is minor and perhaps picky, is that I want to be able to use them with a "cooperative" Target. What this means is to use them with a retroreflector a plastic molded piece that is designed to send the light exactly back to the source. So, it reflects perhaps a thousand times more light then a white piece of paper would do.

Same here, the car came with the short ones installed and they left me the long one in the boot, after installing then, they scratch on all ramps 😢
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the ride height is different with 18" vs. 20" wheels. The outer diameter of the (correctly sized) tire should still be the same. Otherwise the speedometer (& range?) would be incorrect.
I suggest not adding the extension flap. Should be 👍
@@AdamsReview Wow. Did your trim of the splash guard still keep hitting curbs & speed bumps? Do you think the smaller mud flaps are enough to prevent rock chips?
@@Dave--FkTheDeepstate I took off the extra part. It’s been fine in my experience for rock protection and no road/speed bump scrapes
Thanks. I wonder if stiffer suspension (?) on my 2023 M3P will keep the bigger splash guards from scraping the ground as much... If they do, I may just snip them off (like you did, but maybe w/o uninstalling them). PS - Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the ride height is different with 18" vs. 20" wheels. Is this indoor and outdoors
Hi! I have not tried this feature outdoors but imagine it would work within the device's range. Are you attempting to measure an outside exterior wall area? For larger area 165ft. distance measurement feature can be used. Measure the Width (W) and Length (L). These two distances get multiplied. Area=W * L. Thanks for your comment

These are terrible. They scrape everytime i go over a bump in parking lot even at low speeds
Agreed for my situation. Once I took off the extension mudflaps, it's been better.
That is the concern I have. Considering installing on my Model 3 Performance but worried they will hit speed bumps.
Will these help with any stones that fly up around the area behind the flap? My paint is chipping and I'm guessing it's because I don't have flaps
Hey @Jo-E - I'm not sure it's a guarantee but should help based on the evidence that my panels behind the mudflaps are significantly less dirty than before the installation. If you have a 3 LR with the 18" wheels, I suggest installing the flaps without the extended piece. I have not experienced any scraping noises or noticeable noise/range drawbacks.

Does this have any noticeable effect on drag/mileage?
I have not noticed anything affecting daily driving range but I'm sure there is an insignificant amount of drag added.

wait, the mud flaps are only for the front? I've seen several aftermarket sets that include the front and rear. This is really strange to me.
Tesla offers front mudflaps only at this time of video. It’s strange, I agree.
@@AdamsReview They include the rear ones as a “winter package” in colder climates.
Interesting. I can see winter tire pkgs on my tesla app for sale but not an option for the mudflaps. I am in Pacific Northwest so I'm curious what Tesla believes is a Colder climate that gets an optional mudflap offering. Upper Midwest, maybe?

Thank you Joseph. They seem to be too low for the 18" wheels and slightly scrape at the apex of my driveway and scrape against speed bumps in parking lots. Perhaps 19" or 20" rims will work better. I may decide to remove the flaps or modify the flaps by removing some of the flaps.
