This was very good. I grew up across the street from the Hayes mansion in San Jose and went to Hayes elementary school. I even delivered papers as a lad for the SJ Mercury News. When we were kids we all thought that the derelict mansion was haunted. Probably was! Is it just me or does Mary Hayes look more like a Mark?

I came here because I saw a sight that had more of the paranormal edge and I wanted to get a better understanding of the place. Thank you for providing me with some more solid knowledge!

Carol Cartwright, thank you for the excellent, and very well researched presentation on the Morris Pratt Institute. A couple of further anecdotes regarding the institute. 1. In about 1949 or 1950, while First English Lutheran Church, Whitewater, was being renovated, the church sometimes held their worship services at the Institute. 2. Heart Prairie Lutheran Church on Whitewater Lake obtained the Story and Clark Reed Chapel pump organ from the Institute in the late 1940's. It is still used at the church, and has been well maintained. 3. As preteen, growing up in Whitewater, my friends and I would walk by the deserted Institute, and we did indeed call it "Spooks Temple." Thank you again for your excellent presentation. Rev.
