That looks fun for sure!
This is a great video! What an awesome interview. I’ve been an ambassador for them for a long time and I really appreciate their excellence in customer service. They have great product that actually works.
Thank you. They are a fantastic company. I'm not involved with them at all as far as ambassadorship or sponsorship. I just met Andy at Overland Expo West and heard some of his story, and I wanted to go to Montana to record this on my own. I'm very glad I did because I walked away with so many personal and professional lessons. I appreciated his honesty and vulnerability and his allowing me to do this.

I’m trying to hike the Sacagawea peak trail over the summer and I was wondering if you think my front wheel drive car could handle the drive up to fairy lake camp ground or if you think it’s a bad idea . (That’s where the trail head is located)
It would absolutely make it. I saw a mercedes car drive up to Fairy Lake. Just take it slow. There isn't anything crazy going up. Thank you for watching!

Hey John, man you're speaking my language! The contradiction between population and solitude are familiar for me. And although not bears, here in Oregon it's cougars and all my wild thoughts that keep my head on a swivel! Thanks for sharing your journeys!
@@FletcherRC I sometimes wonder if those wild thoughts (anxiety and hyper vigilance) I have occur to keep me from truly relaxing and appreciating God’s creation? I have never encountered a cougar so I can only imagine how terrifying that would be to have lurking around camp, or even the possibility of it. @@mikemurphy2764 Fairy Lake was a recommendation from Andy, whose interview goes live next Thursday. That location where I. Amped was so beautiful. Definitely putting this on my list :-). I have a Jeep Gladiator and I'm planning on getting a Project M topper and hitting the road as soon as I'm an empty nester. Great video! New sub here.
@@suzysmith4661 thank you so much for your words! Hitting the road was so good for my mental space, even though I had different stresses of trying to learn how to find camps out west. Thank you for watching and subscribing. I truly appreciate it.
FYI, most national parks do not have any dispersed camping. A few do, but that is it. For dispersed camping out west the NF and BLM land is where you can do that. Get I-Overlander, it will give you a turn by turn direction to dispersed camping spots, however they are ones most people list so there can be a race to get there first if they are easily accessible.

I want to thank you for starting your channel. I feel the same way, and I go through the same anxieties. I love being outdoors, but I have been afraid to live. The fear of the unknown is my biggest issue. Your channel gives me the courage to get out and face those fears. I'm eternally grateful that I stumbled onto your channel. Keep em coming and keep enjoying life.
Thank you for the kind words Michael. I pray that you can get outdoors and find some healing and freedom. Personally, the fear of the unknown is my fear as well, but then when I can get in my frontal lobe, I realize that I have absolutely no control over anything, even when it's planned out. I thank you for watching my friend.
Wow. We’re very similar. Years ago I broke through one of my life’s challenges and drove 18hrs up to a small CO town that I frequented with my dad. When I got there it was just me and my dog. While she was awesomely I found myself asking now what. I learned it’s always much more enjoyable to do something with someone else…even if you’re in different vehicles on a trail ride. 25yrs later and another failed marriage, I’ve learned I really no longer trust folks anymore with just a couple of exceptions. In 2001 I helped the work associate locate a vehicle that he been looking for which was a four Runner and he was a good enough friend that held my feet to the fire and I went out and bought a JTRD and have been slowly building it up to force myself to go on trips just to get away. I think the reason why I don’t or haven’t taken the opportunity to is the fear of that feeling of when I made that 18 Hour Dr. in the Colorado sitting there and saying now what. I totally get what you’re saying and I suspect there’s quite a few more of us out there. Thanks for putting up this video and exposing apprehensions that make you human.
@@dougstdig thank you for watching and opening up as well. It’s been hard to be vulnerable but everyone has responded so nicely because I think we all want honest relationships and content. @@dougstdig and I hope you get back out there and try again. This summer I have met some people who have become my circle. On top of that the healing aspect of being out there outweighs it all.
