Love Cathay. Our last trip to Toronto (from Melbourne), 24,5 hrs, but after the first 9.5 hrs at the Regal Airport Hotel at the airport in HK, then next day 15 hrs to Toronto. Economy. Choosing the exit row was the best, lots of room for your legs, but cold. A jacket over my legs helped with the coldness coming through the door seal.
Food and entertainment good. So much better than Air Canada,

That is not the Krisflyer Business Class lounge.That is the SilverKris Business Class lounge.SQ has 2 different Business Class lounges.SilverKris lounge is for business class passengers and their PPS club members.Krisflyer business lounge is nearby and caters to Star Alliance Gold members and those travelling economy on SQ other Star carriers.Obviously the SilverKris lounge that you were in is much better than the Krisflyer lounge.

What was the upgrade?
40k points to book a regular room then upgraded to a suite using a globalist status?
In this case I used a confirmed Suite Upgrade Award (TSU) ahead of time to get the suite confirmed when booking. I think the chances of getting a suite upgrade here at PH NY without the confirmed TSU is much lower.

Yeah, you can check out both the departure and pre-arrival meal service in the video chapter timestamps. The food was maybe not the best because it was an overnight flight departing just after midnight.
Between this and the gold coast accessible suite, which one do you prefer?
Chicago Ave. Suite bathroom is fancier than the GC Accessible, and has a partition that can open to the bedroom. So it may be better for couples and less so for families.

GC Accessible Suite has more space and a better view, but a less fancy bathroom. So if you’re looking for more space and an iconic view, GC Accessible Suite is better.

Nice hotel bro, but I don’t think it worth 40000 points or 900+ usd, Go check places like PH sanya. You can get a villa with this amount of points. The decor here is just not it.
Appreciate your comments. While 40k is steep and Hyatt Category 8s in general are a hard pill to swallow, I think 35k off-peak would be a deal here. One of the most iconic Park Hyatts in the most iconic location has to be experienced at least once. I’m saying this as someone who has stayed at PH Sydney, Kyoto, Tokyo and many other iconic locations.

Plumeria is better as it has some food, whereas IASS did not. IASS was a bit more crowded inside, but Plumeria was controlling capacity with a short wait via QR code waitlist.

Which side to set for best view of both singapore take off and sydney landing?
It depends on the wind direction and landing direction, but it looks like the most common SIN landing direction is from the southwest which would make a seat on the left side best for landing. Left side is also probably better for SIN take-off view if departing to the northwest, but there is less likely to be a good takeoff view if traveling south/east. For SYD arrival, left side is likely to give a mountain/forest view while right side is likely to give a sea view, since landing from the west will be most likely.

It was a great value pre-devaluation, now it's very situational. The off-peak points price is not awful, but availability may be difficult to find. Hyatt does seem one or two steps away from becoming Marriott in terms of eliminating the reward chart and devaluations.
