Immersive Car Interior Lighting and Honda Integra Aluminium Door Sill Upgrade
In this video I install the ANKO LED car stripe lighting kit from Kmart and upgrade the existing Type S door sills with some discontinued optional Aluminium Door Sills!
When installing the LED strips make sure to have some hook and loop tape handy so the 3M tape can adhere to the fabric of the interior, ensuring it won't fail during high temperatures.
These lights definitely make for a more pleasant experience on night time drives 😌.
When installing the Aluminium Door Sills, 2 out of the 4 tabs will only line up. This will require removal of the two middle clips for ease of installation.
Thank you for watching! Like and Subscribe for future videos. I read all your comments 🥰.

Honda Integra DC5 Injen Cold Air Intake with Custom Enclosure/ Oil Change/ Sound Test
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.Год назад
Hi everyone! In this video I reinstall my Injen Cold Air Intake with a custom enclosure as the air filter was too exposed during wet weather. I also gave the car a much needed service with an oil change using Castrol 5w-30 Full Synthetic and Hamp Synergy Oil Filter. Car definitely sounds much better when on VTEC! 😜 Thank you for watching! Honda Integra DC5 Spoon N1 Muffler Install/ Sound Test
Просмотров 6 тыс.2 года назад
In this video I install a Spoon Sports N1 muffler and CT Engineering header. I had to replace the existing HKS midpipe with a factory one to allow for bolting at the flanges. Cars sounds awesome for a daily vehicle. Will be making some upcoming POV content of the sound. Instagram: a1an
Honda Integra DC5 Interior Install/ Type R Conversion
Просмотров 8 тыс.2 года назад
In this video I remove my worn Honda Integra DC5 Type S interior and install the freshly cleaned red interior from a Honda Integra Type R. Additional to the factory interior I have upgraded to a Momo Tuner 330mm with NRG quick release. Instagram: a1an
Honda Integra DC5 Interior/ SR4 Recaro detail with Bissell Auto Spot Cleaner
Просмотров 36 тыс.2 года назад
In this video I detail my Red DC5 Type R interior and SR4 recaros prior to installation. I used a Bissell Auto Spot Cleaner, Bowdens Own Fabra Cadabra, Smooth as Detailing Interior Protect and Autoglym Interior Shampoo. Definitely a visible improvement from its initial condition with no more odours and stains. Thank you for watching! Like and subscribe for future videos. Instagram: instagram.co...
how long did it take you?
@@jurassicpork9483 A couple hours as it all bolted in with no issues
Did you use your type s seat rail for the sr4 or you used the dc5r?
DC5R factory recaro rails
@@TheMotorJournal thanks bro
hey bro just curious about your mugen side skirts, are they oem and where did you purchase them from? also love the car!
Thank you! Yeah these are genuine Mugen side skirts, apparently they’re discontinued though if wanting to buy new. I got lucky buying the car with the full kit already. Yahoo Japan Auctions should have some if willing to import though, otherwise there are some other companies that produce some replicas which make it more affordable
Blue much better
Hey mate would that fabricated metal plate be available as a product anywhere?
I haven’t thought about that, would have to make it from a thicker aluminium sheet though
How was the cabin harness did you use the Jdm cabin harness or the US DM
I didn’t have to change my cabin harness as it’s an AUS delivered model and we have Type R’s as well, however there was an airbag light that comes on due to seats and steering wheel but that didn’t bother me too much. You should be fine with your OEM harness though

@@TheMotorJournal Give me a new video!
@@순파고 Been wanting to upload one for a while now hahaha just waiting on parts, would you prefer multiple 10 minute short videos or a one episode complete restoration
@@TheMotorJournal It's easy to watch a short video :)
Spoon sounds and looks really good. I have a twinloop on my CB7.
thats a great looking build. mind sharing what kits are on your DC5? im digging the look
Thank you! It’s a Mugen lip kit
in Indonesia this car is called estilo, it is a collector car and the price is very expensive...
The prices in Australia for this car have gone up considerably too
Excellent work, that car got the love it deserved, and I think the video with the music from Above and Beyond gave it the touch. Greetings from Argentina
Haha thank you! 😊
so cleann!! nice car bro
Thank you!😊
I purchased my '05 Type-S in June of 2018. I bought it from a family friend who was maybe the 3rd owner and using it as his daily. He has an auction license and pretty much does this for a living. I contacted him because I was looking for something to replace my '98 S10. He told me about a few cars that he had, and I considered them. Then he told me about the previously mentioned Type-S. He didn't want to let it go initially, but considering my circumstances and that he has several cars he can drive, he let me buy it. He sent me great pictures, and of course I got to go check it out. The very first plans that I had in mind for it were the same m.o. that I have for all my cars. I wanted to install a cold air intake and do exhaust. Lo and behold it already had this exact same Injen cold air intake and even GReddy cat back exhaust. Bummer I thought at first. I wanted to do this stuff myself. My family friend hadn't done these upgrades himself. They were already on the car. That in and of itself saved me several hundred dollars. Maybe a little over a grand at best give or take. I've done a few tasteful upgrades, but like yours, I especially wanted it to keep its "stockish" outward appearance. I've done some tasteful interior upgrades. I did send the immobilizer, ecu, and my ignition key to Hondata for the reflash. As I mentioned in your other video, I just installed the mini deck lid spoiler and Type-R wing this past Saturday of Labor Day Weekend. I'm probably not going to do any other major engine mods. I did have the resonator deleted off the GReddy, and if anything I love the sound even more now. I went down the rabbit hole of searches on google etc as to rather removing the resonator with a straight pipe would hurt my car by reducing back pressure and blah blah blah. If anything I get a few snap crackle pops, and the car definitely sounds better. It's not a race car. I'd love a turbo or supercharger one day. A friend had my exact car with a ton of mods and a supercharger. Methanol tank and the works. That car really put me back in the seat and I left fingernail marks in his dash figuratively speaking. LOL. Love these cars and I've been seeing so much new content on them. 5 years ago I swear I had watched almost every DC5 type s video available.
Love the story! Yeah a supercharger setup would definitely be nice, these cars are the perfect all rounder daily for practicality in space and performance 😊 I’d love to make more content on this car but really happy with its current form haha
Hello, can you please share the part number of the injen intake? Thank you.
Hi, it would be the same as this one. www.moonlightracing.com.au/shop/air-intake/intake-kits/injen-cold-air-intake-honda-integra-dc5-type-s-2002-2006-black/
Did you have to remove the rear quarter window to reinstall the black molding around it. Or can it be installed with the window already glued in place
I couldn’t reinstall the existing molding as it was too stiff. Perhaps a new rubber molding would be more flexible upon install. However it didn’t bother me too much as the EK civic hatches also don’t have a rubber molding for their rear quarter window
What's that front bumper called?
Hey it’s the oem eg civic bumper with EG6 SIR lip colour matched
Hey mate, where did you buy your front bumper? Did you change sides and back aswell
Hey I got them from carparts2u, I’m not sure if they still sell them though. The sides had to be removed in order to fit the Mugen side skirts. As for the JDM rear bumper it’s a Mugen lip fitted to it as well. www.carparts2u.com.au/files/results.php?par_make=HONDA&par_model=INTEGRA&par_year=&par_utility=&search=search
Cool mate, it's a great car and you're a genius
Im looking at importing a white Honda Integra Type S to Canada. Im pretty sure its the same as the base model RSX with its ~160hp? My question is, do you know if the parts are interchangable between these two? I.e., break pads, rotors, etc. And does it run on 87 octane? Theres not a lot of coverage on the Integra Type S, almost all articles are on the Type R..
Hey there I'm pretty sure those parts you mentioned would be interchangeable. As for fuel in Australia it is recommended to run minimum 95RON on the fuel flap. The motor is a K20Z1 which has roughly 154kw. You'd probably find some more info for AUDM Integra Type S on Ozhonda or Clubitr forums mainly comparing with the Type R model. Although, I think the equivalent in Canada would be RSX-S for 05 as it would be facelift. If you can, import a DC5 Type R haha
This music sus
Add the mid pipe and it really wakes up
You got a Insta?
Hey, yeah I got it linked in the about section of the channel
where are you from?
Hi I’m from Australia 🇦🇺
How much would a job like this cost me
I spent around $1300 AUD all up, but a lot of that included the equipment which can be reused for later jobs. It would be $700 for paint alone. Will be respraying my DC5 shortly on this channel too😊
@The Motor Journal I just bought one like yours with a b18b1 but paint probably going to be the last thing I do to it not sure though
@@legit4083if you’re happy with the current motor painting it would be ideal or even a paint correction/detail. I would’ve like to paint the engine bay in mine but never got around to swapping the motor
Hey man, how much did you get your car for?
Hey man I purchased it for 15,000 Australian many years ago
@@TheMotorJournal Nice, I'm in NSW too and in the market for one right now and they're all junk and overpriced. No clean examples yet for a decent price, this car has been my inspiration for months now
@@Billy-pg2nt Yeah they are more around $20,000 with high kms. It might be worthwhile looking at some cheaper base models and converting it to a K24 engine with added type r interior/exterior goodies from parted out cars. You would come close to that figure and get to pick your aftermarket parts. Big process though hahaha
@@TheMotorJournal honestly at this point that might be the go haha. I'm just dying for that Pearl White or Championship White (Not a chance for $20K), but ideally want the red interior and maybe frankenstein motor but for now aiming for the Type S which comes with the Z1. I don't want to invest too much time on a base model since I like the resale value on the Type S/R models.
@@Billy-pg2nt Yeah some good points, I regret not purchasing a championship white one from the start. Paint is much better than vinyl wrap. The DC5 I have now was mainly because of the amount of parts it had so made some money back parting out the Regamasters and Mugen spoiler. There’s a couple on the market now which you could do the same and part out to bring the price down 😅
Mobil impian, kapan punya mobil kaya gtu😢
damn bro u should be a dj
Hahahaha thanks
I have the same setup but never drive it in the rain since I don’t have the metal plate. Does your intake get wet when you drive it in the rain even with that plate?
I’ve been driving it on rainy days with that plate for about 6 months now with no dramas, so i’d say it’s working keeping the intake dry. Car used to struggle in the rain that’s why I had the short ram intake installed previously
Nice Build.....
Looks mint without the spoiler
Thanks! I’ve got a type r spoiler but still undecided on whether to mount haha
I understand your apprehensiveness regarding the Type R spoiler. My '05 Type-S came with the factory deck lid spoiler. I finally bit the bullet and purchased the mini deck lid spoiler and Type R wing. I finally put it all on Saturday before Labor Day. I absolutely love it! The car does look so sleek and sexy on the hatch whether you have a smooth deck lid with no spoiler at all, but there's something about the type r wing. It does totally change the look of the car. Something tells me that eventually you are going to install your type r wing. Either way your car looks amazing. I think you'll be happy either way. It's a learning curve and an adjustment all at the same time.@@TheMotorJournal
@@VidTubeWatch Thanks! The spoiler is a bit more difficult to wrap as you will see multiple seam lines being one piece. So will most likely mount it when I paint the car!
If only this content creator uploaded more frequently he would be a much bigger success
Great job! truly is a work of art! Love how you shared the progress of your project car from beginning to the end result. If I may ask, how long did this project took from start to finish?
Thank you! Definitely makes for some great memories, in terms of painting and polishing the car it would be about one month in total. (One week body prep, 2 days painting and then the about two weeks to let the paint cure, wet sand and polish about 3 days). Gathering the parts was over a period of two years as they were mostly discontinued so had to wait for people wrecking their cars or order in from Japan. Hope that helps 😊
The build is awesome, congrats. What armrest did you use?
Thank you! It was an optional long armrest from Honda made for EG’s but is discontinued now
Those usually house a 6 CD 💿 changer.
i have honda civic 1995 hatchback too automatic
I wish I still had mine! They are a pleasure to drive 👌
What exhaust set up are you runnin?? Tryna get mine to sound that good on downshifts 😮💨
It’s a Spoon N1 muffler! I’ve made a video on it too haha ruclips.net/video/FzkmGlHSxrc/видео.html
@@TheMotorJournal oh yeah I see. And is that stock cat and mid pipe??
@@paddyib4213 Yeah those parts are stock
Sounds great. I had a HR filter down there with a AEM hydro sheild and still managed to suck in water 😅 had to relocate ro behind headlight and move battery to bumper . Engine bay detail next? Ha
Thanks! Yeah the hydro shield previously didn’t work for me as well. Engine bay detail coming right up hahaha
Wont it suck water when it rains though?
I had to fabricate this enclosure to prevent that as the Injen hydro shield isn’t as effective. It’s been on the car for at least 5 months now works pretty well!
Are you going to cut your hair or it is a style now?
You found my channel! New styles for now 😅

The Integra one came factory on my car
Where can I get that tilting plate?? I want that too
I had mine custom made to suit my number plate length from Checkrd Sports

Thank you!
Clean as car bro! Can you tell me what’s your wheel specs?
Thanks bro! They are 17x8+45 with 10mm spacers on the rear
@@TheMotorJournal thanks bro!
@@TheMotorJournal I have a quick question bro, i just bought these beautiful ce28 wheels size 17x7 1/2+43 offset how much spacers do you think i need to get a nice fitment? my wheels kinda tuck in right now
@@EddieSwaggy I’d go with a 5mm spacer, your wheels specs are still pretty good for a DC5 as I had to roll guards for it to fit
@@TheMotorJournal okay thanks again
Hey bro what midpipes did you end up replacing with?
I originally had a HKS hi power midpipe but the flanges were different so I needed to replace it with an OEM one to bolt the Spoon N1 on
