    Kinda concerned about this employee standing right beside the end-effector. That robot arm can kill you really easily, and you only have to make a small mistake for that to happen…

      We are 3D printing SIKA's polyurethane paste to a near-net shape as an alternative to machining tooling/board. With this method, patterns and moulds, for low temp and pre preg applications, can be produced much faster and lighter as well as massively reducing waste. This video: ruclips.net/video/vbvjM3tltDQ/видео.htmlsi=0Tr8DYHdhLGI3oSG shows the system in more detail. The other benefit, with the extruder attached to an industrial robot, is you have a working envelope of 2.5m x 2m x 2m so you can print really large parts - removing the need to manage large boards, bonding joints, and handling significant waste.

    Seems like an amazing application for FDM tech. Fast prototyping. Multi material builds with different filaments. You can basically reinvent surfboard design with this, amazing idea. For buoyancy/foam inserts you could take another FDM printer and attach a laser or hot knife where the hotend would normally be to make a precision cutter for other materials.
