Menuets in Baroque vs Classical sonata form
Просмотров 143День назад
Btw I made myself the example of minuet, in the key of C major 0:00: Baroque sonata-type minuets: Characterized by the use of binary form (AB), where sections often have modulations and related tonalities. 0:41: Classical sonata-type minuets: Notable for its use of sonata form, with clear structure of Exposition-Development-Recapitulation.

I think it's okay, but I have a concrete and specific advice: Learn more harmony. I've noted you wanted to create a classical-modern style, but it still sounds like something that tries to be something new, but using mostly very classical harmony, or pop-like harmony. I heavily recommend you to read the book "Harmony of the XX century" by Vincent Persichetti, that books introduce the concepts that you may want to use in those pieces, like quartal chords, clusters, negative harmony, etc. Also, I recommend you to search for concepts like: Non-Functional harmony, atonalism, polytonalism, dodecaphonism, bartok's axes, pitch class-set, and neo-riemann theory, but principally bartok axes and non functional harmony, because those are the principal things I use to compose, and I feel that the style you want to represent is similar to mine.
It sounds a bit odd
En que te has inspirado para componer esta pieza??
is this twelve-tone technique?
@@liszt132 maybe
too fast, sounds like you're trying to not waste anyone's time by presenting as much asap
Me ha gustado esa melancolía inicial y ese incesante juego de escalas y modulaciones tonales...
@@orfeometis Ah muchas gracias
Let's hear the rest of it (and the rest of the Sonata).
much better than the last attempt! still some minor discrepancies like bar 30, parallel octaves in middle and bass voice. but still a much better attempt at fugue!!
Ouch the jumps
Обязательно переложу это на гитару.
Хочу такое найти в переложении для гитары, но мне кажется это сложно играть из ща темпа.
Time signature should be 4/4 and triplets for left hand
@@helenle2567 OK, but does it anyways sound good?
Ragtime Mozart.
This is an amazing work
I love this brother!
@@classictastic Thanks! Btw from my point of view major keys are happier than minor ones, that's why this is a "major waltz" against all your minor waltzes
Muy guapo David🎉🎉🎉
@@VITINOX1 gracias, aunque mi canal fue creado en ingles
Was this inspired by Chopin's Winter Wind Etude? Great piece.
@@ingmarbergmanofficial Maybe, or something else. Thanks!
Beautiful 🎉🎉🎉
sounds great!
@@_astr777 maybe because I made as a Christmas song (that's not a carol, but just a song)
@@_astr777 But Merry Christmas anyways!
Really nice! I have some suggestions tho The waltz part has beautiful melody but it's missing something, you know, some decorations. Take Chopin scherzo 2 (or maybe 3) for example, you can add some cheeky little RH run during the pauses in the melody, or add some sort of pedal notes (like Chopin scherzo 1) and ornaments. You can even add a second voice. That way, the music would be more interesting!
Very nice brother!
Ah thanks!
I made it as a Christmas song (not carol however)
Me ha gustado muchoooo
Chopin 2nd Sonata, 2nd Movement .. right ? nice...
@@thewaltzingpiano Yes, it's Chopin's 2nd sonata's 2nd movement, but only the "first fast part"
@@davremmusic ahh... and zimmerman's recording... if im not mistaken ... nice one
@@thewaltzingpiano True, Zimmerman does play it
@@davremmusic sooo.. what type of content do you post ?
@@thewaltzingpiano What do you mean with "post, content"?
This is the most difficult work of Chopin.
no its not
It isn’t.
It's difficult, but not even close to the most difficult. Try the Spianato and Grande Polonaise.
@@pineapplesareyummy6352 That polonaise is difficult but not as hard as this one.
@@bubnub50 Then what is the most difficult work?
Was expecting the charlie brown theme to start playing
Me encanto, muy rítmico ,😊
Nice work. Inspiration from Come Sweet, May by Mozart?
@@classictastic or maybe because you make sonatinas
@@classictastic the three you made in the respective keys or D, C, F
If you speed up the video 2x it sounds a lot better ☝🏼
@@Gustinante Thanks for the "hack"
@@Gustinante I'll try to remember it!
Specially the second mov’s intro, when you play it 2x faster it sounds a lot like Mozart
REMINDER: The menuet in this sonata actually is the one in my first sonata (No.1 in B-flat minor) too.
This is so good! You would have fit in with composers in the classical period
@@michaeldd8948 for example who? Mozart?
@@michaeldd8948 anyways thanks
@@michaeldd8948 who can I fit with?
Amazing piece!
Came back to this. Very nice!
You make "classical music" but a lot of your recent compositions sounds more like pop or rock. It's not criticism, just an observation.
@@liszt132 might be because my music evolves
@@liszt132 but maybe I make classical music in the sense of piano music in general (if you understand)
This definitely doesn’t sound like pop or rock. Maybe neo-classical
@@classictastic Even in neoclassical music, parallel fifths are not allowed, just in specific contexts like isolated fifths, pentatonic scale, or quartal chords. Parallel fifths in traditional harmony is something very rocky.
i really really like this piece.
@@hisky. ah thanks!
not really a fugue but definitely fugal. also too many parallel 5ths and 4ths, try to avoid when possible. but otherwise, i like it
Fantastic ! Actually the initial rhythmic motif is very Indian.
what does phrygian mean
@@YangXinyue-cl7by Let me explain, E phrygian key uses the A minor scale because it's its fifth grade. Did I explain?
@@davremmusic oh ok
Phrygian mode is one of the seven greek modes. The greek modes are based on the natural diatonic scale (aka. Major scale, but major scale is just one of the seven modes, being the Ionian mode). The seven modes are all the same sequence of tones and semitones, but with a different start. In this case, Phrygian starts at the 3rd grade of the Major Scale (Ionian), so it has a semitone at the very start of the scale, giving it this very characteristic sound. Hope I explained well.
@@liszt132 thanks you! I was trying to explain it but thanks
It's E,F,G,A,B,C,D,E. All white keys. E Phrygian 1 flat2 flat3 4 5 diminished7
Like it!
It's good. But I think it's more appropriate to call it "F Dorian" Than "F minor".
Good piece🎉
Nice challenge! In my opinion, you've done well on the tonal relationship of the fugue's subject. Unless this piece is intended to break traditional fugue compositional conventions, I think we need to be careful about the rules in fugue (detailed rules have been mentioned a bit by others, so I'll omit them).
0:38 be careful, that parallel fourths spoil the piece a bit. Edit: There are actually many parallel fifths and fourths in this piece, so you can consider checking the harmony and counterpoint rules.
this is beautiful.. great job??!!?!
Genial.
"Transposed"
