Our life comes from Allah. The only being that is alive is Allah. We are like dead robots without his life and his attributes. We depend on him for every breath. The more conscious we are of him , the closer we are to him.

Here is Ayat al-Kursi (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:255) broken down into 9 parts, explaining key elements in each message: 1. **Allah’s Sovereignty**: "Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all that exists." - This part emphasizes Allah’s oneness and His eternal, unchanging nature. 2. **His Attributes**: "Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep." - It highlights Allah's absolute control and alertness over the universe. 3. **Complete Ownership**: "To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth." - Allah owns and governs all creation. 4. **Intercession by Permission**: "Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?" - Only those granted Allah’s permission can intercede on behalf of others. 5. **His Knowledge**: "He knows what is before them and what will be after them." - Allah’s knowledge is all-encompassing, covering past, present, and future. 6. **Limited Human Knowledge**: "And they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills." - Humans only know what Allah allows them to know, emphasizing His supreme wisdom. 7. **His Throne**: "His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth." - Allah’s authority and power surpass all creation. 8. **Effortless Maintenance**: "And their preservation tires Him not." - Allah upholds the universe effortlessly, without fatigue or weakness. 9. **The Most Exalted**: "And He is the Most High, the Most Great." - This closing reaffirms Allah’s supreme majesty and greatness. Each part highlights different aspects of Allah's attributes, power, and sovereignty, making Ayat al-Kursi one of the most significant verses in the Quran.

Ayat al-Kursi is structured symmetrically, with the middle point (Allah’s knowledge) acting as the central balance: 1. **Point 1 & 9**: "Allah, no deity but Him" and "He is the Most High, the Most Great" reflect His absolute sovereignty and greatness. 2. **Point 2 & 8**: "Neither drowsiness nor sleep" and "Preservation tires Him not" focus on His effortless power and vigilance. 3. **Point 3 & 7**: "To Him belongs everything" and "His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth" stress His dominion. 4. **Point 4 & 6**: Intercession and limited human knowledge tie together Allah's authority and control over who may act on His behalf. 5. **Point 5**: "He knows what is before and after them" forms the central theme of Allah's boundless knowledge, balancing the whole structure. This symmetry beautifully reflects the divine order and harmony in Allah's attributes.

Illah from alahaya ahlahu means to worship, bcs off it some people translates illah as ma'bood, as the object to be worshiped, the one to be worshiped. But there is a subtle difference between them. Ma'bood is someone that deserves to be worshiped. While illahi is called the infinitve and masdar which means worship itself. (Note: masdar is an abstract NOUN that descires an action which is absolute of time or place eg worship is an abstract and absolute noun so its masdar while to worship is a verb) The equivalent of that from same origin would have been the word ma'loo . Allah could have used Ma'lo which means the one to be worshiped but Instead Allah used illah Illah means worship itself. It actually suggest that There is no actually worship ever been done unless it's done for Allah, nobody has actually truly experienced what worship means unless they have done it for Allah, they may have had some rituals or spiritual experiences but nobody has ever experienced spirituality or worship in it's true nature unless it's done for Allah. Alliha illa fulanin, to find peace, contentment in someone. To turn to someone when you are sad or overwhelmed. So it means Allah is the only companion ship you will ever possibly have Implication of Alliha is also tahaiyara, to be amazed or overwhelmed or in awe of someone There is nothing in life to be in awe of , amazed by than Allah. Nothing will overwhelm you or put you into humility like Allah Would Some scholars of langauge have argued that ilaah comes from the letters wao, lam , and haa not hamza, lam and haa. So it actually comes from wallah In arabic the waow can turn into hamza , it's called ibdaal in arabic . So Walliha yallahu is one of the degree of love in arabic. To have desperate and intense love for someone, being overwhelmed I love so much so that you don't feel pain even if you are in pain, hunger even if you are hungry, the love becomes your appetite, that's what fulfilss you Base meaning , god Deeper meanings, someone you turn to in deperation someone that you have intense love for, someone you turn to when you are looking for peace and contentment, someone that in your most desperate of times is gonna be there for you, and of course the incredible object of your love Arabs have 14 words of love. 14 degrees The lowest is Al hawa (lust, when your love is not more than just lust) As sabwa As shagaf Al wajd Al kalaf Al ishq An najwa As shauq Al wasab Al istikana Al wodd Al khulla Al gharam Al hub Al wallah Al hiyyam The second last is Al wallah The last is Al hiyam. It comes from the verb hamma, which was used for camels when they were looking for water In desert, so they aimlessly wander in this direction and that direction. Last one is the love that is unhealthy for you, it's deadly, you become loose yourself in love. It turns into madness.its self annihilation . It renders you completely useless But the second last is the highest form of love which is healthy. It makes you feel no pain, it fulfils you, if everything in your life is going wrong but so long as you have this love you feel like you don't need anything else, all your needs are satisfied. it's enough for you.

Asalamalaykum and Thank you Ustadh, I just need to relate that many years ago, way back in the 70’s I knew nothing about Islam except that we had been reared in the reminder to avoid it as it was the number one enemy to the new world order, it’s a long story of how we are all born into the struggle which is a continuous struggle. As a teen we had moved in stages from interconnected soulful integrated village life but due to my fathers work we moved to an industrial impersonal Newtown which reminds me much of the American gold rush, I had no connections to the place, so quickly drifted into company much older than myself who were mainly addicts, I was very disillusioned, much so, and made my escape to Holland, I was pursued by a djinn that resembled a tall black panther with yellow slit eyes, what Jung would refer to as the shadow, to cut a long story short this entity was trying by stages to take possession of me & in fear ( I was devoid of hope) I would rise out of my body and try to prevent myself from rising above the ceiling as I did believe then that I would be stuck in an eternal limbo, meanwhile, I would watch this figure in agitation going around my body as he tried to gain entrance into taking full possession of me, I eventually had a breakdown through lack of sleep & was hurried to the psychiatric ward In a straight jacket, I was interviewed by two Dutch psychiatrists who could not grasp or believe in the story that I was relating to them but then a 3rd doctor arrived who was a young & very caring young Muslim, the first thing he did was to put the key into my hand and gave me the choice to go or to stay, he made me feel safe & he related to me, of the 3 realms of Angel, mankind and Djinn and that there is The All Powerful Creator who had complete Power over His creation, I believed in what he said when he explained that the Angel are made of light and mankind Is is made of all the elements of earth and that the djinn are made of smokeless fire, suddenly I had a clear explanation of what I was experiencing, he advised my reluctant self to go back into the house and before sleeping to imagine an egg shape shield around me and just to remember that the All Powerful All Embraxing Creator would not let this demon destroy me, so I followed his instruction & imagined that shield of protection around my person and when I felt the approach of this very dark and dense entity standing at the crown of my head, suddenly, my whole body went up in roaring flames and a verse in another language started to pour out of me, and as the recitation was happening the flames started to cool down like a cool breeze washing over me and then all was stilled. Of course I wondered what on earth had happened and a few months later I met a Muslim man who then became my husband and his name was Muftah which means key😊 and I opened a Book that was wrapped up in a cloth on top of his TV and straight away I recognised the the page that fell open on Ayat Al Kursi and the Arabic language seemed familiar to me even though I’d never seen it before & my husband to be mentioned to me that was the most protective Ayat in The whole Quran, the next page I turned to was the story of Abraham ( Ibrahim) peace be upon him, when he was thrown into the fire and Allah made a pathway for him and Allah did “ May the path be coolness and peace for Ibraheem, I knew from that moment that I was a Muslim alhamdulillah wa shokrilillah, so I’m so glad that algorithms popped up this lecture for me to listen to this morning as I’m now 68 yrs old and packing my bag for the journey to hospital to undergo a hip replacement, so this is the best reminder to have listened to before I go out of the door and turn the key, peace be with you and all the team at Bayinah, thank you

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ( Salla Allah Alayhi Wasalam) ( صلي الله عليه وسلم) said: 'Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi immediately after each prescribed prayer, there will be nothing standing between him and entering Paradise except death. This hadith, which mentions the virtue of reciting Ayat al-Kursi after every obligatory prayer, is considered Hasan (good) by some scholars. It is found in sources such as Sunan an-Nasa'i and has been authenticated by scholars like Imam Ibn Hibban and Sheikh Al-Albani

And no one knows its [true] interpretation except Allah. But those firm in knowledge say, "We believe in it. All [of it] is from our Lord." SubhanAllah! How insignificant we are and our problems.... I remember this Aayah from Surah Nisa: "Why would Allah punish you if you are grateful and believe? And ever is Allah Appreciative and Knowing" [an-Nisa’ 4:147]. This verse reminds us of the importance of gratitude and faith, and reassures us that Allah is always aware of our actions and intentions. It is a comforting reminder that our struggles are small in the grand scheme of things, and that Allah's mercy and appreciation are always with those who believe and are thankful. Assalaamu Alaikum✨

Salaam my brother. May Almighty Allah reward you as He sees fit for doing this. As a student of Linguistics, I fully appreciate the depth to which you have taken this discussion. Linguistically, you went into the deep structure of the ayat - showing us the layer over layer over layer of linguistic association and in all of the aspects of what the real meaning is. Those of us who do not speak Arabic, look only at the surface structure and will never know or understand the total meaning in all of the breadth, width and depth of the meaning. So to have this given to us is a blessing.

Mai I just make a comment which might prove difficult not to come over as rude ? It is NOT meant that way at all. Listening to some Arabic speakers and others - you flip from Arabic to English and back and leave someone who does not speak Arabic floundering. Is it not possible to speak - prayers etc ttoo - all in English to see if it has an impact. It is interesting to learn so much new material but the language barrier is a barrier. I suppose I need to fo to an island for a year and learn Arabic. It is a beautiful sounding language but would be great to speak and understand it all too. Thank you.
