I have added this video to my "Angular harps" RUclips playlist. ruclips.net/p/PLm8mLM41EccAZ9xKdyO4gcMfFzb3S7Xdq
thank you!
The piece she is playing is a classic Taiwanese popular song from 1933 entitled "Bāng Chhun-hong"《望春风》(Mandarin: Wàng Chūnfēng; translation: Longing for the Spring Breeze).
Thank you for the information which we will be very happy to add to the video.
Very nice! Suggestion: if you collaborate with Chinese musicians again, please consider performing some yanyue (court banquet music) from China's Tang Dynasty, of which about 200 pieces survive in score form for lute, angular harp, transverse flute, double-reed pipe, and mouth organ. Many of these pieces (which date to the 8th-9th centuries AD, or sometimes even earlier) were actually of Central Asian origin, deriving from the court music of oasis states such as Kucha and Khotan (in modern-day Xinjiang), and some originating from Turkic peoples as well as from the Sogdians. Here are a few examples: v=W_HHE9C1Dzg v=CeugpTQKnM0 v=9hjR8GumJsY v=b-1NgHTafk0&t=1465s v=cBVDruY3MZM
Muhteşem olmuş. Tebrikler💖💞💓
Extraordinária.
🙏 Thanks...
Amazing interpretation! Just curious, can your harp play all the Turkish commas too, or only tones and semitones?
To our knowledge, no harps so far can play commas unless the string is individually microtonally tuned. Tamsin Dearnley plays a harp tuned in whole and semi-tones and Nihavend Peşrev, the piece she is performing is based on a scale that is identical to a minor scale in western music. Thank you for this very good question. A book entitled "Sixteen traditional Turkish Tunes" which is part of the collection does feature microtonal tuning, where the harpist has tune certain strings to obtain commas.
