Barron, everyone wants a friend, or friends, but we all discover how few are truly loyal. Scripture ( Sirach/ Ecclesiasticus 6: 13-17 ) says what a faithful friend is, and how hard they are to find. If you are Godly, so will be your friend(s.) We attract by the bait we use, which is how we are. Best to allow God to bring them into our life. A priest told me, "Blessed is he who waits on the Lord." God's timing is perfect, and he knows just who and what we need. Best to start with God as our friend. He is love, so therefore teaches what love and loyalty really are. So does a dog, which is God spelled backwards, but not sure you're ready for that either. Talk to God/ pray about everything, then wait on HIS decisions and timing.. He doesn't rush us, that we make mistakes. Jesus, by example, alone in the Garden of Gethsemane,, discovered God ( the father in HIS case ) alone was enough for him in his agony, because God is all/ complete. HE is a friend, and gives us friends, and strengthened the 12 apostles to be fearless and loyal, in time, to Jesus.
